41  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Horn Buttons on: November 22, 2004, 08:58:44 AM
Hi all

Just wondering if reproduction horn buttons were or are made? mine is cracked and faded and i have seen a few on ebay and they are quite expensive- so im guessing there were never reproduced but i just thought id throw the question to the wise out there.

Also i was after those black plastic pieces (no idea what they are called) that go behind the wiper and choke nob and the lights and ignition nobs. were these reproduced at all?

Cheers Paul

45  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Grease Points on: September 22, 2004, 07:02:28 AM
Hi all

Just wondering about the grease points (not even sure if they are called that) under the car

How many of them are there?
How often do they need to be greased?
Is it easy enough to buy a grease gun and do them myself?
Do they all have the nipples?
What is the best grease to use?

thanks for any help

Once i finish paying off my uni fees i thought id treat myself and sell the fc wagon and get an fc ute, which is what ive always wanted, but i think this has just inspired me to get an ek (ive always had a soft spot for them) sorry if that offends any1  Grin Grin Grin

49  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Fitting venitians on: June 28, 2004, 11:20:34 PM
 Hi all

I was contemplating buying venetians for the rear sides of my wagon and was wanting a few opinions about them. both positive and negative would be great

How are they fitted? do they clip on about the window or do you need to fit them in under the roof?
Do they bend to match the shape of the window or do they just hang straight down? id imagine they may look a little out of place if they dont match the shape of the window???

any opinions- and especially advice on fitting them would be appreciated.

cheers
50  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Cleaning Fuel Tank on: June 28, 2004, 11:07:07 PM
Hi all!

Judging by the amount of shit that ends up in my fuel filter im saying the bottom of my fuel tank will be a swamp of rusty dirty goo.

And being quite a novice with this sort of thing i was wondering if any1 or every1 give me some advice on cleaning out the fuel tank.

Is it worth it? it it a hard job? once the tank is taken out is it easy to clean? is it hard to take the tank out?

any help would be much appreciated

thanks all

52  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Door Lock Adhesive on: May 19, 2004, 11:06:16 PM
Top of the morning to all!
(actually its 11am, but i just woke up)

Just wondering (hoping) if some1 could tell me the BEST adhesive to use for sticking the door locks into the doors. I have tried a couple but they have all had movement in them and eventually come loose.

If any1 can speak from experience on a superior adhesive to use it would be much appreciated.

Thanks all

54  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Dash Destruction on: May 05, 2004, 03:15:23 AM
Catchy subject title hey!!! Grin

Ive just got a new plastic guard that goes around the guages on the dash- i know this housing has a name but cant think of it- im sure u all know what i mean.

anyway i was about to take the old 1 off and put the new 1 on when i realised the screws in the old 1 are from behind the dash and then i saw what i had to take off to get in there.

Aside from this the dash needs nothing doing to it- so im pretty much pulling it apart just to get this on.

Is there an easier way of doing it that im not seeing?
Im not sure that there is, i just thought id ask for a few words of all the wise on here. Wink

ill hope to have pic on here soon- shes nearlly ready to be revealed- in all her ugly glory Grin Grin

any help will be appreciated!

thanks all
