I'm surprised that one of the older members hasn't replied to you by now, so here's what I know:

In the "good old days" of FCs, there was no such thing as a VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) which includes codes for maker, date of build and car identifier.

The closest the FCs have is the "chassis" number stamped on the inner guard on the FCs as shown in the pic posted by Wayne b (Old Mt Isa Boy) which should have some relationship to the Body number on the ID plate on the fire wall.

This is a good cautionary note for anybody buying a modified classic - make sure you get the engineer's certificates and Road Transport Authority approvals. I think that in most states any old Holden that had a "Grey" that now has an engine over 139 c.i. needs some sort of engineer's certification, or at leats RTA inspection.

I'm after an FE/FC air cleaner.  Any condition will do - rough condition at low price will be good - I only want the "chicken" wire core out of one, so if the casing is damaged that doesn't matter.  In fact, to reduce postage cost, all I really want is the top half with the wire core in it.

The Lighter    the hinges    and   the wiwper arms are gone.

A few more things I've dug out today:

Complete cigarette lighter (including base).  Good condition - you can see my reflection in the chrome.

$20 plus postage cost







Bonnet hinges - left & right, with springs.  They show a bit of surface rust which I've brushed so I can tell you the rust hasn't eaten into the steel.  Just need to be cleaned up.  Doesn't appear to be any "slop" in them.

$40 plus postage







Under-dash wiper linkage arms - 3 of (I had 2 sets, but used one (right side) arm on Jim).  One is stamped "R", the other 2 have no stamping but it would be pretty safe to assume they are left side ones.  There doesn't appear to be any "free play: in the ball joint fitting.  The chrome on the scuttle blocks is quite good (no washer jets). 


You can have all 3 for $40- plus postage










1 pair stainless front seat trims for FC.  Good condition, they just need a buff-up.  No clips.

$60- for the pair, left & right.

I meant to add,  I don't have anything large enough to try it out on, but internal diameter is 0.786 inch =  roughly 3/4 or 13/16.  Depth of thread is 0.712 inch - nearly 3/4"

It's not hollow thoughout - so if I inderstand "threadrod" correctly, that is ruled out.

I'm having a bit of a clean-out and have the following for sale (more to come later):

1 AC-Delco recon kit for the fuel pump - including 2 diaphragms, gaskets, little bits and instruction sheet. Display or use. $30 inc postage.



I also have a complete fuel pump (it probably needs doing up) - condition unknown.  $20 plus postage.  It's fairly heavy so I would expect postage to be about $15-.  I'll only charge what it costs me.



NASCO horn contact kit - in original cellophane packet.  Part no. 7421726 - comprising a contact, plunger and spring.  The cellophane packet is a bit damaged but is good enough for a display, but if you want the bits it won't matter what the packet is like.  $5.00




Now, here's the RARE bit (well, I think it is).  You've all seen the offset head bolt tool.  Have you seen one for the manifold nuts?  How do you torque up the manifold?

I have a pair of Litchfield offset spanners/sockets:  3/4" for the head bolts and 9/16" for the manifiold nuts.  I've never seen the latter one advertised anywhere, so I'm claiming it as "rare".  $65- including postage for the pair.  If they don't sell here at that price after a couple of weeks, I'll test the price on ebay.

It's obviously a drift to insert a threaded component which is screwed on at one end and whacked at the other end to drive it home.  It was included with some other tools I bought several years ago.

Well it looks like Jim (my FDC) has sold - but bloody Murphy's Law prevails.

I turned the wipers on thios morning and the knob fell apart in my hand - unrepairable.

So has anybody got a wipoer knob in good condition they can sell me, please.  The buyer's coming later next week, so I need it ASAP.
