know of 3 clean shells for sales,
you know the ones someone else has already dropped big $$$ into,
just don't have the 5 figures most are asking for them,
+ the one I'm keen on was already engineered many years ago with blown v8
witch is near impossible to do in vic now days

63  Galleries / Members' Completed FE-FC Projects / Re: Frank on: March 30, 2014, 01:36:46 AM
what made you go with the 50 profile on the front instead of the 55,
keeping the od the same, or maybe a lower stance?

should handle very well, i love the 225/50 and 205/55 on mine, fits the stock wells and makes her ride like she's on tracks, compared to the 175/s
64  Galleries / Members' Completed FE-FC Projects / Re: Frank on: March 29, 2014, 06:28:36 PM
like the stance
mine sits about the same 2" all round

what size rubber you running
65  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: Painting batteries ? on: March 23, 2014, 09:15:05 AM
Yes u can
But you need a paint designed for plastic
It's the same paint with a product called flexi add in it
Witch allows the paint to bend and flex

You could also buy a new black battery
But not as cheap and $15-17 spray can

68  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: running motor outside of car on: March 22, 2014, 11:22:40 AM
I run/start nilly all of mine on the engine stand
Just don't do it on a 3 wheel make sure it's a 4 wheel

Sometimes depending on the engine I have had to pack it up to get the right angle
They normally go pretty cheap as someone is always getting rid of one
69  For Sale and Wanted / Cars For Sale / Re: Fc 59 for sale on: March 20, 2014, 07:58:59 PM
For anyone that wants to know why she's for sale
Plane was to enjoy it until my garage was complete then let the cut and shut begin
But I have come to appreciate her for what she is a sold clean unmolested car (minus paint)
So the hunt for and less original package is in the cards once she sell
70  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: How much oil should there be coming from rocker arm and lubebush on: March 20, 2014, 07:50:40 PM
I removed the pipe behind side plate and I was able to get oil to spray up to bottom of head with no pipe at around 2-2500rpm so my pressure is good
I flushed the pipe with solvent and blew it clean
I get a lot more from hole now but compaired to newer cars it is so little
If I block off the hole with my finger I get oil from the rockers
So I just left the hole think the way it should be and that's why asked about turning it around so as it fills up the rocker a tad more

There will be new pump rebuild kits avaible throught surplus soon
So if she doesn't sell ill do some more invergating

Wonder if anyone has turned it around so as it comes out top at 45deg that way more oil sits in there giving it more of a chance
But I think it there to lube the lifters earlier
73  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: How much oil should there be coming from rocker arm and lubebush on: March 17, 2014, 12:18:20 PM
Thank that explane the on/off/on of the oil at idle

So since you unblocked the bleed you don't get carbon buildup?
74  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: How much oil should there be coming from rocker arm and lubebush on: March 16, 2014, 04:06:31 PM
Thanks Trevor
I might do the block off because I know I'm getting it out there as a constant

As far a new gears and relief
They are available
Just no gears today

This is the email I got from auto surplus

Hi John,

Gears are not available but we can supply a relief valve and spring for $17.50. We will have complete kits in approx. 3-4 months.
The kit will come with shaft, gears and the relief valve and spring.

Thanks for the speedy reply ken
76  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: How much oil should there be coming from rocker arm and lubebush on: March 16, 2014, 12:24:21 AM
Pulled the side plate off
Disconnected the pipe from block at lifters
And started

at idel is spray up about 3/4"
At 25-3000 it is a constant flow spraying as high as the middle of head

Blew out pipe and refitted with top not on rocker arm
And now just a constant drizzly

Pluged it all up and ran
And oil comes out joiner bush
But none out of rocker arm

My book showed hole to face bottom at 45deg facing carbs
Is this correct
77  Technical Board / General Technical / How much oil should there be coming from rocker arm and lubebush on: March 15, 2014, 07:46:14 PM
Just done a head gasket (blew out between 3 and 4)
Changed it and now I'm redoing the valve clearance hot

And I only get a dribble out if the joining bush in startup then nothing
Even at 2500rpm nothing

I checked the hole was clear

I've blown air up the hole and it comes out from each rocker arm and that lube hole on bush

I've ran motor with the oil pipe disconnected and I only get it to dribble, spit, dribble, spit coming out at idle
When it spits or shots out it only comes out about 3-4mm
And is about 1 second off 1 second on

Is this correct
Doesn't sound right to me but you never know
78  Galleries / Members' Completed FE-FC Projects / Re: FC, L plates and Nitrous Oxide = F . U . N!! on: March 14, 2014, 12:28:48 PM
Don't you think its time to change the title of your post now?
Your not a L-plater anymore

And starting to take a real shape now
Will look nice with thoes wheels
79  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: Polished ports on: March 12, 2014, 07:11:16 AM
With the pins you use std inlet and put you extractors on
Drill a and fit a 2-2.5mm pin on each side
Then you remove everything
Bearing blue the extractors
And push them against the head using the pins for ailment
And open the ports up to that
You do the same for inlet
