I have a lot of badges - all of them with varying amounts of blisters. I have hung onto these as technology marches on - they are repairable- but they are still perfecting the process the last I heard.

One option now open is to lightly blast them - remove the blisters -  bog up any imperfections and paint them in Chrome paint- ( the new stuff that  is a close match to chrome)I have seen this done - but I  don't personally really know anyone  that would go to such lengths.

So if you have no badges at all I can sell you some of the better ones for $5-$10 each -But be warned they are not perfect. At least the badges will match up with the factory holes. The repro ones when they used to be available didnt.

That primer pick shown above is a van - which essentially is the same vehicle  as a wagon!- so of course the tailgates are more curved- different  tailgate altogether for the Ute... Nice try  heheheh...

Gday nes
Monday would be better- ring before you come on 3206 0340. I can remove an out rigger  prior for you - just give me some notice by phone. I get into deep doo doo with  Mrs neat  if caught dealing on sundays- which is strangely only allowable if the wife is working - but Mondays are better....
I can  wrap your items in plain brown paper to avoid  wife  detection or public humiliation...oh and the car parts... Tongue
Cheers streetneat-Andrew.
45  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Re: FC Ute Tailgate on: February 07, 2006, 08:40:58 PM
That 'll be it- transport companies are renowned for doing this. Like a customers  FC wagon that turned up sans  sunvisor. Bloody transport company decided  if there had been one then  it must have blown off and it wasn't their fault. The wind was so powerful it even  unscrewed all the fittings. Amazingly  there was no other damage.
Photos of the wagon with a sunvisor  proved nothing.
I get phone calls  all the time asking  that I repair cars that the transport companies have damaged... I cant say  that I'm responsible for hammering tailgate bumps flat... Ive been sworn to secrecy on that one Cool

Phew!
I'm relieved it got there in one piece and it was better than yours. I'm always nervous about others expectations  of  the condition of 40 plus year old parts.

50  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Re: Front Seat Corners on: February 03, 2006, 03:03:26 AM
I may be able to help with some original ones- I had one plastic welded and it came up a treat- U  cant tell. I will have to have a look for the mate to it - and see what I have - my price is $100 for the pair- One is definitely good( its been repaired ) the other may need some TLC. It cost me $70 to get one side repaired..As I have kids - I wasn't game to put them at risk by actually fitting them - so I opted for an EK bench seat instead with the metal sides.
Give me a ring on (07) 3206 0340 or 0412 032 239

Your welcome Mark... Yeah I'm annoyed at  using  so much bubble wrap - some other parts I sent away were wrapped in old masking paper!
When you see what Aust post are capable of breaking - you don't take chances!
Thanks again for the positive feedback -

some ppls interpretation of rare and genuine differ from the mainstream. Some parts I reckon are hard to get are common as said nasco spiders elsewhere... and Vice versa... Dunno if it helps but my spiders have only one head. Tongue
BTW I also have many external  oil filters for greys and many oilbath filters (sorry no fittings as such) - so they are not rare in my shed....

i always am amused at  ebay - I don't shop there myself- I am a little too attached to my wallet. What gets me is the claim of Genuine Hubcaps- so does this mean there are non genuine ones available? I just sold 14 HR hubcaps  for $40... 3 0f them appeared to be new...and they came in a box with real spiders!
Bugger!... streetneat -Andrew...

I have lost all my PMs for some strange reason- so apologies to those who were waiting for  replies. The best thing to do if you are chasing FE/FC/FB/EK parts is just ring me on (07) 3206 0340 or 0412 032 239 and I will see if I can be of assistance.

56  General / General Board / Thank you from streetneat on: January 28, 2006, 10:14:36 AM
Im not sure this is the right place - I dont think it belongs in rants.
I would jjust like to thank the many members from this site  Who in the last few days have helped me get rid of some unecessary stock. The response was - and still is -overwhelming
I have sold parts in the last few days to every corner of this country- and it pleases me that these parts have gone to true enthusiasts who actually need them for their projects - rather than  to sharks who want to make money by on selling the parts.

I still have plenty of bits left - and I cannot unfortunatley post panels - apart from the damage factor - Aust post wont acept them as they are oversize.

To all that have bought parts from me - thank you and  I hope that they turn up and meet your expectations..
For those that havent bought  parts from me - dont despair- there's still plenty left!
Cheers streetneat -Andrew.

Well as a panel beater- you would make an excellent baker with attempting to add sections into tailgates. Tongue Im not having a go at you  so dont read it as that.
I fully appreciate you are trying to be helpful - I just would hate to see someone take that peice of advise - attempt it,  and  destroy a good tailgate skin.
At $135 or what ever the price  was it would be a waste of money.  I have only ever paid $50 for skins from quite a few different sources - so it pays to shop around!
Even with my metal working  capabilities I could not attempt  such a delicate task with out spending  a ludicrous  (word of the week) amount of time on it- something no one would pay me for.... and not something thats really required any how. I would most likely panel beat the pressing in myself if I was to atempt it.
I would be interested to  see a picture of such a pressing in a Ute skin - I have yet to see one. It must be pretty minor if there was one. My old skin had no signs of such a pressing  but it was pretty damaged. ... as were the dozens of customers ones I have done.
Cheers -Streetneat -Andrew.

58  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Re: FC Ute Tailgate on: January 26, 2006, 09:12:12 PM
The FC Utes I have come across never had a raised section for the badge. I removed my old skin and put a new skin on myself. I agree with the comments on the poor fit - but they can be worked with. I run my skins ( tailgate skins ! ...lol) through an english wheel before fitting - this puts the bit of curve in them and I  them put the  folded top part  between tow bits of wood and lightly press  on this until the right curve is  achieved.

The wagon skins had a raised bit  because they used the flat  backed badge from the Ute and to compensate for the extra curve  of the wagon skin, the wagon skins had a  raised section. Thus  allowing the badge  to sit flat.

Now it is possible the FE/ FC utes had a SLIGHT raised section - But in twenty plus years I have yet to see one -  most of the tailgates I am re skinning have had a lot of previous repairs ,so its  hard to tell- or they may all have been EK tailgates without the badge holes.  Some NOS tailgates I have come across have no badge holes - or  extra pressings for badges- seems the factory   by passed this to allow the gates to fit  more models. Im only guessing here.

The sugestion of  cutting out a raised section and adding it to another tailgate is a ludicrous  idea-  A lot of unecessary work and a lot of  warpage involved. Its not needed - my FC ute has the correct badge and  it sits fine on the tailgate  without the raised section.

Hope this helps -
cheers streetneat -Andrew.

I just sold  two 1/4 windows to Mark in WA yesterday. I have more with great frames but there will be a little rusty   stain on the hinges - so they are quite good but not concourse.  I have both left and rights. These would be the most common thing I am asked for so these will run out first. give me a call on (07) 3206 0340 and I will 'see what I can do for you. ( Its easier to describe whats there  on the phone-  as Im not in  front of the parts on the computer!)
