Hi all, Just received word that Gary (Zulu) and Bruce (FC Driver) are stranded at Eucla WA and need help (Car not moving anywhere fast). The options open at the moment are, Sit and rot, Bruce to hitch a ride (Gary won't leave the car) or Jan to drive over and retrieve them all from Sydney. So anyone on there way back east, from the Nats and have space or can help in any way it would really be appreciated. Cheers Rusty

Hi fe,
I had similar stuff done to the grey in my FE wagon in 2008, as Moe't had done, and it goes like a beauty. Cost me a little under $2000 at St Marys Engines St Marys NSW. It too is driven daily and, on the motor ways, cruises at 100klm per the hour very comfortably.

Thanks Rob. I'll give it a go anyway. I bought the harness for the wagon from vintage. Very good and everything worked first time. Very impressed. Anyway the motor is off the floor and back where it should be, I'm not tripping over it. Cheers Rusty

I'm about to put the Motor, Engine ,Power plant into the ute, just to get it off the floor. I took the head off it and found a burnt valve so it's currently at Heads Plus in Penrith having new valves fitted. In the mean time I intend to rewire the ute myself and have a coupla questions. . What size wire (Amp wise) do I use? and . The motor had an alternator fitted. What do I need to do to keep the Alternator? Any help/ Advice would be appreciated Thanks Rusty

Sorry for the delay, here are the pics, from the Forbes car show.Again the quality of vehicles was excellent, even the farm machinery. This came out from under a pepper tree This is from Mcfeeters Museum. The chev belongs to Rosalyn's cousin. He has only had it a couple of months. The Monaro won everything on offer apart from peoples choice. Wouldn't you like to go and get a load of wood in this. Peoples choice and one very tidy ute. And this car came all the way from Penrith. That Red truck came all the way from the central coast. It also took a fair share of the bootie, and it too was a very tidy unit. The family that own it drive it as an every day veh. This event also looks like it will be an annual thing. Cheers Rusty

Yesterday, we ( Roz and I) went to Wallerawang and what a day it was. There was around 100 plus cars there and the quality and workmanship of vehicles was excellent. While we were there we met up with Geoff Sheather, he had his FC Sedan, and picked up a couple of trophies, but the highlight of the day was entering the ( Rosalyn's) Wagon in her name, yep , that's what I said, and having her name called for "The Encouragement Award". That's the award shots. This is a mix of some of the veh that were there. As I said the quality and workman ship is a credit to the owners. And lets not forget the bikes. There was about 30 of them, and some really nice ones. It was a great day, the weather was excellent, and it will be on again next year. Oh ,and the raffle was won by one of the motor bikes riders and the prize was a "lawn mower" how did he get it home, we'll never know. Rusty

Rosalyn and I travelled to Parkes on Saturday, and it rained all the from Penrith to Parkes, non stop, and cold, 6degrees in Orange, with the intension of spending a week with her family. While we were there we took the opportunity to enter the wagon in the Forbes Car show. The weather on the show day, Sunday 2 Oct was totally reverse to Saturday with us try to find shade. The cars at the show were extremely excellent and ranged from unfinished projects, farm machinery, Semi trailers, Hot rods ,vintage, classics and modern day cars. One very expensive 427 Monaro @ $166,000. This will apparently be an annual event. Can''t put pics up yet, having a spot of bother with this thing.

Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: Seat belts
|
on: September 25, 2011, 09:23:57 PM

If we can work this out, This is how the seat belts are fitted to our Sedan. First off, the "B" Pillar Bolt. From under the gutter , come down the pillar 70mm. The bolt size, external is 9/16th, so you need a hole drilled at 9/16th from the out side being careful not to drill straight through the Pillar, however drill in far enough to so you can just see where the drill bit touches the inside of the pillar. From the inside, and using the drill mark as a guide , you need to centre punch, very lightly, the drill mark left by the 9/16 bit, and drill a 7/16 hole. When fitting the bolt into the hole(s) you may need to ajust the bolt by removing a small amount from the end of the 9/16 bolt so it fits without causing the bolt to pull a dent in the outside of the pillar when tightened. The floor mount I used some 2" angle and bolted the retractable real to it and bolted it to the floor. I made the angle long enough to avoid any obstructions under the floor. If you look under your own floor you will see what I mean. I used a sting line from pillar to pillar across the floor to mark out and drill the centre mount holes. Once again the hole is 7/16th, the size of a seat belt bolt. I also used 2"X2"X4mm plate with all the sharp edges rounded to stop it pulling through the floor. You also need to seal between the floor and the plate. Deal with the rear ones later. Hope this helps Cheers Rusty

Leon, Some time ago I put a post up on the forum Somewhere, on the way my seat belts were fitted to our sedan. I also measured the bolt for the "B" pillar and sent it , the measurements that is, to Rare Spares. I believe they now have the bolt in stock, but I could be wrong. It is a 2 piece item. I still have the measurements at home. If you want them I will try to email them to you or Post them here. I will also dig out the photos of my fit and email them as well with a explaination of what I did. Good luck fitting them. Rusty.
