4381  General / General Board / Re: Photo's on: February 04, 2002, 05:50:12 AM
Thought I'd take my own advice and check out Starphoto. I set up an album and here is a link to a picture that I uploaded to it.
http://photo.starblvd.net/~customfc/1-1-1.jpg?i=1013133125

My next trick is to work out how to post the picture onto the board, not just the link. Perhaps Richard has some tips on this? Starphoto was very simple to use, with clear directions. All you need is a name and an email....something we all have?

Hi.
Another way to provide photos without clogging up the board would be to take advantage of sites that cater to image storing in photo albums. What this means is that you can open an album that you can store pictures in and then provide the links via the URL as Richard said above. These sites don't usually charge, as they come with advert pop ups, this being their way of paying for this service. One site that I know of is Starphoto. They can be located at http://starphoto.starblvd.net/
I believe Yahoo also provide a photo album service, not sure if it is available to Yahoo customers only though.

Congrats Richard on reaching the hundred mark. Did you get a telegram from the Queen? Seriously though, I think this is an interesting concept and enhances an already top web site. Thank you for your work in providing this feature for us all to enjoy.

4384  General / General Board / Re: W.E.Y. what's it mean? on: January 24, 2002, 11:11:48 AM
Hi Tony.
W.E.Y. certainly is a mystery. I had one on my FC about 15 years ago and was asking the same question at every opportunity. If someone saw it on my car, I would ask them about it. If i saw one on another car or at a swap, I would ask the owner 'the' question, but no-one ever knew. I think it's about time we found the answer to this one. Huh  I will do a little digging and ask some of the FJ gurus and see what I find out. Wink

Hi Rob.
Here in Sydney, there was a company called Canopy Industries that did many a vanette conversion as you have described. Check the sliding window for their name etched into the glass to see if yours is one done by them. They also produced a fold down seat that went into the cargo area of vans and utes. I owned a similar van with a CI conversion which I recently passed on to a fellow club member. Still a project with a long way to go.

4387  General / General Board / Re: Blown Grey! on: October 27, 2001, 12:03:53 PM
Hi Tony
Thanks for the info. I remember seeing the Bobcat in a show in Sydney and believe that is where I picked up the brochure. I recall the story re Mike continuing to make the blower after his fathers passing, but was that THAT long ago? Boy time goes quick. Not sure where the brochure is at the moment as I am between houses. Will try to locate it.

Hi there.
I can recall that an FJ custom coupe from the 60's called the Bobcat has a Norman supercharger on it. The car is still around today. I believe the Norman blower is still available new, or was up until as recent as 10 or so years ago when I picked up a sale brochure. Another example of a blown grey can be found in another FJ (FX?) custom called the Jigsaw. I believe this car used a GMC type blower on a highly detailed grey, using billet accessories.

Hi Jason.
Read your post with interest. Hurry up and get that van on the road before folks forget what they look like.
I have some pics you would be interested in and will try to find out how to post them here. In the mean time, what is your email.
Regards
Alex
