Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: Ride/Springs

sgo, I have ute rear springs fitted to my sedan. I have stock HR front springs and find that the front is too soft for the ute springs . I had 6.5 inch mags on the car & need the ute springs to combat tyre scrape on the standard guards. I am returning to 6inch wheels & may be getting my standard springs reset . I find the ute springs do give a bouncy ride & would need heavy duty front springs to handle properly. Colin

kalfe, Sometimes they seem to be really lightly stamped, making them hard to find. Many coats of paint in the engine bay can make them hard to find also. Colin

Twitch, Make sure carby size, jet size & settings are the same in both carbies. You should be able to get engine running sweetly . Definitely no fuel leaks. Make sure float level is'nt too high. Don't go overboard with jet sizes. Have fun fiddling & get yourself a fire extinguisher, a must with multiple carbies. Colin

Ed, Sorry, I forgot to sign in, I am in Canberra, but give me a ring & we'll sort something out. I bought my copy from our Holden dealer some years ago. Colin

Dave, you can buy decent extractors for the grey motor with four pipes, two collectors and another collector under passenger floor. cant give you a brand name as my bits are stored during respray. a good exhaust shop should be able to get some . colin
