3  For Sale and Wanted / Cars Wanted / WTB - Fast Eddie's FC Station Sedan "The Long Road" restored circa 2004-11 on: January 28, 2019, 09:19:06 PM
Hello All,

I'm looking to locate and buy back my FC station sedan.

It is featured in the following thread:

http://forum.fefcholden.club/index.php?topic=5462.msg31018#msg31018

This car was built with the help of many friends from 2004-2011, and received many NOS parts during the build.

I understand after it was sold by the Classic Throttle Shop in North Sydney, it went to Melbourne and then perhaps Toowoomba.

Any leads would be appreciated,

Thanks,

Ed - 0408 200 299
4  For Sale and Wanted / Cars Wanted / WTB - Alfio's "Black Beauty" restored circa 2008 on: January 28, 2019, 09:10:08 PM
Hello All,

I'm looking to locate and buy back one of my old FC Holdens.

Here is a link to it:

http://forum.fefcholden.club/index.php?topic=11415.msg67248#msg67248

This car was built from two cars I sold to Alfio, one of them (the shell in the first few pictures) was my first FC, purchased and restored in 1991 when I first joined the NSW club -it's the grey and white one in my Avatar.

The black bomb was purchased from a service station owner at Roseville Chase and used to sit in my driveway at Cromer - much to my wife's delight!

Any leads would be appreciated,

Thanks,

Ed - 0408 200 299

9  General / Events, Shows etc / Re: Congrats to GEOFF, Summernats Top 60 on: January 17, 2011, 01:17:50 PM
Hey Ed.
This is the same car that Chuck started, but to say that Chuck built it is not a fair statement.
Geoff has put in a lot of work to get this car on the road to a very high standard.

Regards
Alex

Alex,

OK, how about "Chuck fabricated and engineered the car prior to selling it to Geoff as an incomplete project"?

Happier with that?

Having been closely involved with the early build, sorry "fabrication and engineering" stage, and seeing the photos of the car now, I can appreciate the work Geoff has put into the car, and he deserves every accolade for it.

Regards

Ed

Hey Craig
There's a bit more info here:

Alex,

Is this the car that Charlie Lark built? The wheels give it away...

I recall the engineering in it was something else - flat floor, XJ6 cross member and from memory a crate V6 from the states - most of it put together by Chuck in his townhouse garage in Leichhardt.

Good to see it finished and on the show circuit.

and this is how you cure the paint on the exhaust system...

A few more bits and pieces this weekend.

Due to the fact that the tailpipe was too long for local ovens, I decided to try out the POR15 high temp paint for the exhaust system instead of a "jet-hot" style coating.

I was very happy with the finish, and reinstalled the exhaust this afternoon. Then I had to cure it...

Nice car. The "deceased estate at Pymble" to which you refer also included that incredible NOS parts hoard that came onto the market a few years ago. Does the vendor, "Mick" still have it all I wonder?

Here are some photos of the warehouse. I think your car was the main one that the guy who collected all these parts owned.

Here is some of the stuff I bought from the collection and incorporated in my resto

Eddie,
I don't know how they were when new, but when I have installed the plastic door liners I have made a small cut each side, about two inches up from the bottom and layed the last section of plastic inside the door to shed any water or moisture away from the bottom of the door panel.
What have others done?

regards

Weddo

The ones I am using are original, new old stock plastic liners. They have a flap welded on one side that is placed inside the cavity. The purpose is to deflect water as you suggest.

Looking good Eddie almost there. Whats happened to the old girl in the past 2 weeks.

Cheers Jim

Not all that much - will head to the garage today to do a bit more.

Fitted up the doors with the plastic liners, and started installing the door trims and handles.

Some further progress this week.

Sometime ago I purchased some NOS parts for the car, and the vendor kindly included this decal

A tricky thing to install, due to its age. I was hoping to also stick on an old NRMA member transfer, but when I tried to float it off the backing, it disintegrated.

Fortunately, I managed to get old Norman's transfer on though.

Next was the venetians. Easy by comparison. Here's a shot of it all completed

Come on Ed.
4 wheels and a battery and that's finished!!  Cheesy Grin
Give Gricey back his car and get out and have some fun in your wagon!  Cheesy
Looks magnificent.

Alex

If only it were that simple.

Made plenty of progress yesterday. Bled the brakes and clutch, finished off the wiring (yes it is a Vintage Wiring harness) and attended to numerous little details.

Like the slash cut exhaust tip, and self portrait.

Mudflaps

But still with a bit to go. 'bout three years work there I reckon

Found this under a cover in the garage recently...  Wink

It almost looks finished!

Marc,

It looks great in the photos - the lowered stance suits it well. If I squint I can imagine it with red wheels instead of yellow...

Is the interior in the same, er, "rustic" condition? Did you get the original style headlining with it I sent up to Linden?

I'd be interested in hearing from you as per my PM.

Regards

Ed

Hi Eddie

I just did a super quick search back through your posts from around 2003 & 2004 but it seemed like all the photos had been removed/links broken.
