hi, there seems to be a glut of PC viruses out there at the moment. Being on a Mac my latest definitions (2.5.02) dont pick up PC viruses. Ive had viruses from people using club members addresses etc. and mine has also been used (apologies) :-/ some of these have been titled "re: some questions" Ive been not opening and deleting all suspect emails and attachments. My software scans all attachments prior to receipt also. Is there any other way I can help stop PC viruses, so they dont propogate using my email address?? thanks Ed

Hey Glenn, How did you go with the demister? For those of you looking for ducting hose, i saw a hose with 32mm ID at the pool shop, looks like kreepy krawly hose.
back to the seatbelts.. u need a reinforcing or spreader plate behind the bolt (45mm x 65mm x 3mm thick at a minimum) im not sure of the pillar can accomodate this?
anyway if it can, i was going to try sliding a plate up the inside of the pillar with a nut welded to the back of it, then plug welding the plate into place.
The cover on the pillar shouldnt be a problem since the sash guide bolt should be mounted on a spacer anyway to allow free rotation of the sash guide. Cut a hole marginally larger than the spacer and sit it around the spacer.
My concern is the angle of the belt from the sash guide to the inertia reel.
Does an inertia reel work effectively at all angles? Will you mount the reel on the wheel arch?
May have to check out some wagons for ideas..
I may try for a hidden installation of the sash guide bolt for the front belts too.
If anybody has inertias in their ride, how did u mount your reel?,, through the floor?
sorry if i had more questions than answers..
Ed

Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: power steering for fc

HEy Yackboy,
Sounds like your booster is leaky?? anyway about the power steer front.saw a HD on the weekend with a torana front end stuffed under there!. not as neat as an HR front, because the bolts ar in different positions and there was 5mm plate along the subframe rail,... nevertheless effective. you could then use torana stuff (LH-LX) turning circle would be better than a CRS LH-LX kit too. much easier to buy a pre engineered CRS kit for an HR front tho.

Hey Jason, A previous accident has twisted the B pillar about quarter of an inch . Found it when i was trying to fitup the panels and couldnt get alignment. Subsequent checking using a straight edge and reference points showed an ugly reality.. Thanks for the lead though!
Cheers

Hey Jason, The only problem with HQ-Z stubs on a HR front is the incorrect KPIA. I think CRS would probably make a kit which uses a HR drum brake stub, modified to suit a commodore rotor? just some thoughts anyway Ed

Hey Air Chief, IM trying to see what they look like and maybe make a couple? I was thinking of just making a Y out of exhaust tube, plastic conduit or similar. Or if anybody could let me borrow one with a deposit I could get it moulded???... A picture of one would be a good start tho. Cheers Ed

I am thinking of obtaining some hosing to fit the vents too. can somebody post a pic here or send me a pic of the heater body outlet (to demister vents for Smiths bullet type heater). as the rest of the good bits on my car, was parts'd in its previous life. thanks again Ed
