Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: door window channel clips

Thank you FC427 .. how do I re-attach the clips, and do new ones come with the channel, do rare spares supply them with the stainless strip .. sorry but first time ever stripped a car down .. the car has done 45,000 miles from new, but had a lot of surface rust from sitting in a shed since the 1980's, therefore needs a paint job... the old channels are in good nick, but when I levered them out they bent, so may be easier and cheaper to buy new ones with new clips .. Technical Board / Restoration Help / door window channel clips
|

Hi .. I have just stripped my FC Special down for sandblasting and repainting, and when I pulled the window channels out, I think they are called Bailey channels .. there were little clips on some of the channels that came out, and there were some clips that stayed in the body section of the window frame .. my question is .. do I leave the clips in the window frame and just push the channels back in or do I have take them out and re-attach to the channel .. also when levering the channels out, they bent, is there an easy way to straighten them .. Regards Stephen
