If that link doesnt work just get onto us ebay and search for fender bolts. Hundreds will appeart and you can make the choice. A better than Rare Spares.

Even if you are careful those horrible standard sheet metal screws (they are not bolts) will stuff up and it will be just when you are doing final assembly. If you want a standard look (I don't really want to draw attention to a line of stainless steel bolts just the engine) there are alternatives.
I have used 1/4 unc nutserts and then used mud guard bolts from a 1960's Ford. They are 3/4" long have 1/4 unc thread and incorporate a captive washer and a black coating. In addition the heads have the same raised section as the standard sheet metal screws and you can use a 3/8 AF spanner. Best thing is you can get them on new on ebay from US restoration places. I bought 80 so I can do a couple of cars.

Technical Board / General Technical / Re: What engine cooling do you have in place for your V8 FE or FC.

For cooling size does matter. A single 16in fan has more CFM than multiple smaller ones. Radiator type and positioning also matters. The van has a VK V8 radiator shoehorned in there and there is no problem. Only issue we have ever had is initially blowing fuses on the fan as the 16in Davies Craig needs a full 30 amp fuse especially at fan start up.

Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: FE Hidden Wiring
|

In our van we * fed the wiring through a hole under the A pillar (under the right had front guard) * the loom under the guard is encased in split loom and attached to tabs I welded high up on mudguard side of the inner guard. * the right hand headlight/park light/indicator is separated into another split loom and terminated near the headlight * left hand stuff and fans continues in the loom down the outside of inner guard * a hole is drilled at the bottom of both inner guards (in front of the radiator) for the loom to be put though to the fan and horns and through to the left hand side lights.
You need. * a step drill * grommets for the holes to protect the wiring * split loom to protect the wires * tabs to tie the loom to * a bit of time.
regards
John

Hi Peter
So sad to hear of your grandad's passing. But so glad to know that you were able to undertake your restoration in plenty of time for both of you to gain enjoyment from it. Keep your all your memories close to mind and while the sadness of losing him will never pass, in time, the good memories will gradually outweigh this particular memory.

We have had two wheels done by Pearlcraft and have had excellent service and communication. I am pretty sure they dont use 2k paint. We would recommend them to anyone. Maybe there has been some hitch in the communication in this instance.

When you're on a good thing, stick to it my dear Jack! But I am a female and, as such, it's my prerogative to change my mind. That is, unless I don't want to or........ I have a choice. Oh oh "choice" that's a bad thing for a female who's also happens to be a Libran!

You suckhole Jack! Sorry but still no progress. 2012 vintage is complete, we had a week off for a trip to Victoria and since we've been back we're still working on the revamp of the front yard - yep it's big! Got a new diff to go into the van before Bright and then work should resume on the FE.
