1  For Sale and Wanted / Cars For Sale / FC wagon for sale on ebay on: February 14, 2018, 04:45:12 PM
Well folks i've finally made the decision to sell my wagon, since we've moved to our new place out of town and on a dirt road i haven't been game to drive the old girl in case some idiot comes tearing past throwing up rocks and shit so she's sat in the garage for nearly a year now, I think it's time to move her on to someone who will make more use of her and look after her better, I'll be sad to see her go she was a major part of my life and restoring her held me together when i was going through the grieving process but times have changed for me for me now i have a fresh start and a new life Smiley , anyway ebay id. no.253426140758

Just a quick hello to those who remember me and my story, well life certainly has ways of changing just when you think it is over, since my last post on here i've married a great girl and we've travelled to Britain and France plus flew around a fair bit of Oz plus I've changed careers, the FnC is still running well and is just about to get a new set or retro style rims, life is good again. No not mine  Wink   eBay item number:251859534925
Put this on ebay for a old mate of mine a few days ago, still registered, driven occasionally and kept under cover, there is minimal rust for a car of it's age, a small amount in one rear dogleg, top of the front pillar, in the vent and in one section of the front subframe, must have been kept in a carport exposed on the right hand side at some point of it's life as the passenger side is good, with a bit of tidying up the old girl could be driven as is or would be a great base for a restoration, in the last couple of years it has had a new radiator, wheel cylinders, brake shoes, exhaust, plugs and points, also comes with a few accessories including a rare grill badge, located in Boonah Qld. these pics are ones i didn't put on ebay as they have a twelve photo limit.

G'day all, thanks for all the kind words re the car and Sara, I definitely agree with you Jamie re staying motivated through all the things that life throws at us during the build being the hardest part, things were hard for a long time but you can't change what has happened so sooner or later you just have to pick yourself up and keep moving forward, thankfully life has been good to me in the last year, the car is still running great and Sara and i have created a new future together with a trip to Britain coming up in april and a Wedding in sept  Grin Grin, no prizes for guessing which will be the wedding car lol, great pickup on the car being finished on page 59 there Pete.

No going to give it a miss this year Craig, I've just been too busy lately and the wagon isn't quite finished, it's in at a mates workshop getting the tuning issue sorted then i can book in for the engineer, I heard that you have to book a site almost a year in advance to get in nowadays and that accommodation is even worse?

So close to being finished now, so stoked in how she's turned out, just the kickboards and rear cargo panels to go, have to get some speakers first so i know how big the holes have to be, engineers next, thought i'd take some pics while i had the wagon and scoot cleaned up ready for the local car show.

I can't understand why that would be Ian they should all be identical no matter where they were built, I did have to cut my plates down a bit but not that much and I cut the pillars open and slipped them inside is that what you have done?, hard to see in the pic and i can't take another or check the measurement at the moment as the old girl is down at my mates business getting hooked up to a diagnostic computer to find why it won't rev in gear.

Too easy guys i've had heaps of help from people on this site too  Smiley, the ones i used are 75 deg. ones Ian so if you put them further back you'll need a different angle, I just taped a piece of paper on the side where i wanted it to fit drew the horizontal line with a level, drew a line between the top and bottom mounting points and then used a protractor to get the angle, too easy  Wink , fine with me if you use the same intake Graeme i'm just grateful to Pete for making it for me, Pete wasn't that keen on it but i reckon it looks shit hot myself, love that bling lol.

Looks good to me Dave, my mate will have to get it painted to match his car anyway so a couple of creases are no problem, I'll pm you my address and if you can do the same i'll send it off in the next few days.

Found a bit of surface rust when i stripped it so I cleaned up the worst bit with a wire brush on the grinder and as you can see it's nothing serious, there was also a tiny bit under the top rubber but as far as FC tailgates go though it's in great nick for it's age.

Looking good Graeme, nice colour scheme, the vents will just slip in to place but you have to get them in exactly the right position first, and hold your can on the right angle lol.

No worries Ian, haven't had time lately the boss is away so i'm doing his job and mine at the moment.

Graeme i bought some universal Chevy clips off ebay( universal type moulding fasteners part no. G.M.3944866), the plastic ones were useless i chucked them in the bin, you'll find there aren't enough of the other clips either but ( MOULDING CLIPS AND NUTS! 1930's thru 1950's CHEVY FORD CHRYSLER ETC 52-27A) are exactly the same.

I didn't want to mount the reel on the wheel arch as i've seen others do so i tried to hide them as much as i could, if i'd done this before the car was painted i would have modified it so it sat on the inside and was completely hidden, I used a Pete's seat belt plates as they fitted almost perfectly in the pillar, only problem is it just catches on the seat so i will have to raise the arch in it a bit luckily i haven't had them reupholstered yet.

Sounds good Dave, do you want to exchange some pics first so we can make sure we are happy with the deal, the one i have is still in the original paint which is worn and faded so you can see that it has no dents and  isn't bogged up or anything.
