1  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: Bucket seat recommendations. on: April 08, 2010, 10:32:41 AM
If your car has to be certified by an engineer your seats will have to meet the current A.D.R. IE, head rest's so that would rule out HR, EH, HK etc.

Is it the stud pattern that is wrong?
If so its not a problem, a good wheel shop can re/drill and install steel seats that are better anyway because the nuts chew out the alloy.
Cheers Kevin
3  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Re: HR Front end parts on: July 11, 2009, 09:06:22 AM
Hi Jason,
If you are meaning the nuts that attach the upper and lower wishbones I got mine from Rare Spares some years ago, they may even be called (mounting bush) I believe there are standard and oversize, the oversize is to compensate for flogged out wishbones.

Cheers Kevin

Thanks Trev for your time spent checking that out.  Smiley Smiley
I should have enough equipment to remove that section, only need access for towing a generator in.
Plan A: Phone them Monday and cut it out on Wednesday.
Plan B: Check out Stinky's bargins.  Grin Grin

Cheers Kevin

8  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: inlet manifold worries on: December 23, 2008, 07:58:56 PM
Waynos,
If you want the motor to suck in air and fuel the inlet manifold should be smaller than the inlet port of the head. it sounds like you should remove the manifold, lay a inlet gasket on the head, scribe a line using the gasket as a template, measure from the edge to the line. This will give you an idea on how to gasket match the inlet port. Do the same on the inlet manifold, if the opening is larger than the gasket then you need to open up the gasket to suit.
If you want the exhaust gas to escape the the exhaust manifold opening should be larger than the exhaust port to allow flow.

I know this post is THREE years old but but isn't it amazing. Some foresight, imagination, planing and enthusiasm and WOW what an achievement.
Kens forecast has become a reality.
Over 50 FE's in the one place at the same time and out numbered by FC's even.
I just thought this old posting would be of interest.
Well done Ken.

 Cheers from Kevin O
12  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: Red motor problem on: November 04, 2005, 09:30:40 AM
hi Dave.
The old dissy runs at 8 volts through a resistive wire on the coil "the one that is wound like a expansion spring and i think it is yollow." Cranking is done at 12 volts on the coil. The points would burn out  while running all the time at 12 volts.
What you need to do on the electronic dissy run a new wire from the ignition so the coil gets 12 volts while running and 12 volts while cranking. This should stop the plugs from fouling up.
Also gap the plugs to 1.5mm but if it runs like its got a lumpy cam and its hard to start, gap the plugs to 1.2mm

14  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: steering arms on: August 06, 2005, 08:34:25 AM
Craig, try HQ stubs. This will bring the steering arm higher.
What works for me is,
HT stubs
P76 discs plus fitting kit
CRS altered HR steering arms
CRS front mounted LH Torana rack
14x5 rims
14x185x70 rubber
HZ V8 callipers
"What didnt work for me  was",
CRS drop spindles
HQ discs
Good luck

16  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: Need some Headlights on: July 29, 2005, 06:16:47 AM
Griffo,
You could install a double filliament globe socket in the front indicators, parkers and indicators together just the same as stop lights and parkers in the rear. A bit of rewireing would be required. If you do this make sure to use frosted lenses not amber.

cheers from Kevin O
17  General / FE-FC Holden Nationals / Re: 2006 Nats Torch Relay - TORCH's BIG DAY OUT on: July 21, 2005, 07:25:22 AM
Hi Cathy
The torch was set up, Huh
There he was just minding his own Cool Cool Cool, relaxing on the beach as can be seen on pic 10 of the Melbourne shots.
The beach is directly opposite the Continental Hotel at Cows, Phillip Island,

'Anyway as most people would know" surf beach waves are unpredictable and you can guess the rest.
Next thing Ken had to do the surf rescue routien on the torch.
Torch then had to under go a full resto, paint and decals

But truley Kathy it was not I who gave torch the swimming lesson.  Lips sealed Lips sealed Lips sealed Lips sealed
Cheers from Kevin O
