Last year the organisers estimated 400+ cars; this year they had to close the gates - couldn't fit any more cars in... Saw 5 FCs; 3 sedans, 1 ute, 1 panel van. Two V8s, 1 C'dore V6, 2 modified reds... not one FE... Sweet V6 sedan belonging to a forum member (thanks for the drive, Jack! ) Tidy V8 FC ute... And some others and a crappy old HQ wagon belonging to a local retired surfer... It's officially a 'Rod Run', but rods were a definite minority; huge diversity of makes, models, styles, modifieds, stockies made for a very interesting day cheers, jack

The good news this morning was a call out from Nick to some mates, and a convoy of FC's, Race Cars, Nissans and Judi's Subaru were all dispatched well away from the danger areas.
Regards
Mr & Mrs Weddo
Good news indeed! Fingers crossed for you, your family and your house, shed, etc, surviving this unscathed and unscorched... cheers, jack

good to hear from another fan of steelies, moons and whitewalls Mick Only way to go, Mick... Moet, if you go HT/G rims, be sure to get wheel nuts to suit. While they are the same size/thread as FE nuts, the chamfer on the bottom IS different. Using FE wheel nuts on HT/G wheels can easily lead to wheels disappearing into the scenery; this can be a little disconcerting at highway speeds... cheers jack

HT / HG rims are just plain steel 14" rims, the HK series have eight distinct slots in them.
the slots are in 4 pairs; you can't miss them, and HT/G rims 'stick out' about 1/4" more than HK, but they're all the same size 14 x 5" and same PCD as FE/FC. I'd go the HT/G rims... (with whitewalls and baby moon hubcaps )

Thought I might have got out this week for run but an unexpected term of baby sitting a 5yr old and a 2 yr old have put an end to that. Yep, it takes both the wife and I to look after the 2 of them.
I believe you... started work at 4am, finished at 1pm then looked after my grandson (almost 3 yr old) for the rest of the arvo; now absolutely knackered dunno whether its old age or young kids, but it's tough yakka ... (but I wouldn't give up the opportunity to spend time with him for quids ) Still plenty of time left for less important things like old Holdens

yeah Nick. Only posted it because of the 'gold chrome' effect - I'm a very amateur photographer; when I much later looked at the pic I was stunned to see what the light did to the look of the chrome; must have been reflection from the sorta dry grass...

My new hubcaps have arrived hmmmm..... Given your penchant for the hubcaps on both the car and van, I'd just have to assume that the new ones are of the same type... Different rims??? Or are the old ones damaged/out of shape etc and liable to to fly off into the scenery when more than 70 hp is transmitted through them?
