nothing wrong with XXXX Mark... (if you need to put out a fire ) Was a very pleasant arvo (except for the weather... "Queensland; raining one day - pissing down the next..." ) Looking forward to next year; hopefully with more of us and more cars. Cheers, jack

Suggestion for suitable meeting spot - Coolangatta Bowls and Recreation Club, south end of Warner St, opposite Goodwin Park which is usually where lots of cars are on display... The Bowls Club would, I assume, do tea and scones... (and has a bar ) Pedro and Craig - we could meet there Sat arvo; ring me re a suitable time. Dean - ditto but on Sunday? Give me a ring. For Pedro and Craig - I'll be the old fart with a walking stick, hearing aid, shaky hands, faded flannel shirt (or FC T-shirt if it's warm) and a blue baseball cap with a bloody crayfish on it... (and NO - you cant eat the cray; it's not real ) Hope this is suitable; either let me know tonight or ring me later on - we're out of here at sparrows tomorrow morning and none of us gerries travel with a bloody computer or fancy clever phones... cheers, jack

Hey Craig, I did read your text, and I even got one of the boys to put your mobile nbr in my phone! Thought I'd pm you back as I'm not up with that texting business - too hi-teck for me... Hopefully we can arrange an FE/FC meeting next weekend I'll supply the cups of tea, Dean might bring a sponge cake, you could bring the cream (FC), and I'm sure Pedro will supply the pumpkin scones... see ya's soon! cheers, jack

only problem is i don't have a mobile, Pedro
PM sent, Pedro I've only recently and very reluctantly acquired a mobile... It usually lives in the shed somewhere. On the odd occasion that I need it, I get one of my sons to ring it so I can find it... I don't know my number; I have to ask the Leader of the Opposition what it is if anyone asks... she then looks it up on her phone... My sons have these fancy new phones - "smart" apparently; mine's just a stupid phone; it only does two things that I know of - you can make AND receive phonecalls Hope to see you in sunny (??) QLD cheers, jack

Recently saw a RHD (Aussie-delivered?) '53 Chev (according to rego sticker) with an almost identical dash. The speedo looked same as FE/FC...

hahaha, Alex and Dean... yeah, I've been working out... (working outside extending my shed for the FOURTH time... . The relative importance of the shed is amply illustrated by the fact that it is now much bigger than the house - but it's true that the house is only a tiny 160+ year old stone "dolls cottage"...) unfortunately that pic is of some fit young (probably only 50 or so..) bloke; not me... cheers, jack

General / General Board / T shirt
|

Saw these T shirts on the dreaded evilbay (don't know how to post a link, but look up Aussie Classic T shirts) I emailed the bloke (Keith) asking if it was possible to 'customise' the print a little... within the hour, he replied 'yes'. Just to try him out, I asked for the bonnet bird, bonnet letters, spears on front door/guard and rear guard badges removed, delete mag wheels and replace with steelies, baby moons, chrome trims and whitebands, add my rego number, thinking this would all be a bit much for him... (I attached a pic of my car). Later that day he emailed me a pic of the 'customised' artwork. Less than a week later, it arrived. Good quality shirt, excellent artwork and printing. Normal price for stock printed shirt is $39 incl. postage; my 'custom' one was $50 delivered. He is happy to do different colours to suit your car. Sedan, ute, wagon and van available for FC, but it appears he doesn't rate FE's as 'classic'... Well worth looking at if you're after a suitable present for your wife... (just make sure you order your size ) I wouldn't normally give something like this a plug, but he's very easy to deal with and the product is very good. If you're not ebay capable/friendly (like me ), you can contact him by email kjrusticprints@@optusnet.com.au cheers, jack

I want people to look at the detail and they spot something different everytime they see it...
Pete
I think you can very safely say you've achieved that (and much more!) already... The phrase "pushing the envelope" comes to mind, but you've completely shredded the bloody envelope some time back... It's going be extremely interesting to watch this build thru to the finish; the surprises just keep on coming!

Yep, Pedro; that should keep you out of trouble but I was only referring to an all-black dash, and even then it would depend on the rest of the interior paint and seat/doortrim/carpet colours... Red dash with black dashtop sounds though And you're still not telling us what your thoughts are for the rest of the interior - I'm thinking that this might have a big impact on the dash colour selection... cheers, jack ps if there's any GREY inside at all, Stinky will shoot you; and if his aim is poor, I'll finish the job!

Pedro, maybe it depends on what colour(s) you've got planned for above the door trims? And the rest of the interior? I've got shiny mid/dark blue on the top of my dash - the reflections are only a minor annoyance on the odd occasion. Go shiny I reckon... And no doubt you've considered all shiny black? (if not, you better have a good reason why not - I can think of someone else who may be keen on that option ) cheers, jack

i don't mind the look of them myself, a bit old school, some chrome dress rims and centres should fancy them up a bit, Pedro
me too, Pedro... I had 6 and 8" on my HK ute; the rims and stock plastic centre caps painted with 'aluminium' paint, chrome bullet nuts, wheel centres in satin black - cheap and looked real cool (to me anyhow )... Spun ally bullet centres (instead of the stock centre caps) and chrome bullet nuts might suit the wagon? or go completely left of centre and paint the rims/centres in matching red and black?? whichever way you go, it's gunna look the goods
