Can anyone give me information on which company/s will insure a 19 year old male driver in an FC or any similar early holden? AAMI don't insure pre 1970 cars, Shannons don't insure under 25year olds. TPPD or comprehensive. ? thanks.

Technical Board / General Technical / Re: Dismantling dash fascia

hi Tayz To get the light switch out you must depress the little dimple on the rear casing of the switch, then pull out the knob with the shaft ( as though you were turning on the headlights). Then use a wide flat screwdriver to unscrew the slot on the fascia/dash. The switch will then be removable from the back of the dash. have fun.

Technical Board / General Technical / how to remove ignition barrel ??
|
on: April 07, 2007, 06:41:31 AM
|
Does anyone know how to remove the FC ignition barrel from the dash without having a key.? The key is normally required to put the ignition in the LOCK position for removal. I dont have the key for this one as the dash was a swap-meet pickup. I have tried 5 other holden keys to turn the barrel to lock but they wont work. Interestingly I noticed that the FE/FC ignition switch has the facility for a internal globe, to light up the lock, which is not on later models ie. FB EK etc. thanks.

Technical Board / General Technical / Re: What Carby

I now run a stock stromberg on my auto 202 - stock with mild cam. I got rid of the 350 holley as it was painful in fuel cost with no noticeable gain in performance. There are different carbies for auto and manual and also depends on the model 202 - check the number on the top of the carby to find out.

Hi Ken, yes they are all from the same collection, at the same place, except the FC wagon is not under cover like the rest of the cars. Is there anything significant about the car numbers? thanks earlee.
