Come on guys - stop taking the piss out of the bloke - all he wants to do is remove his knob.   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

The correct way to do it is :

pull it very hard ( maybe a couple of pulls ) and you should feel it when it happen and releases..... so keep pulling until it happens ... Shocked Shocked

Excellent job  Shocked Shocked - looks like you have some welding skills which are needed for this project.  Shocked

Will you be using the complete wiring loom from the donor?

Where are you located in Queensland?   Huh   I am doing a similar project at Nundah.

11  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: brake cylinders on: March 17, 2009, 07:05:14 PM
thanks for the replies.

I pulled the existing leaking wheel cylinders off the car and after cleaning them up, found they had already been resleeved with stainless steel.

The pistons were stuck quite solid but with a bit of hammer persuasion they came out.
The front cylinders had steel pistons which were pitted while the rears had alloy pistons that were in better condition.   Huh Huh

Have fitted new cups and they should be okay.   Grin

(The car had been sitting for about 10 years)

17  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: Top Speed on: March 06, 2009, 08:18:20 PM
Almost all banjo diffs up to HX holdens were coarse spline, whereas HZ onwards were fine spline.

Perfomance cars like XU1's generally had fine spline banjo diffs.

Salisbury diffs are completely different again.

you should be able to pick up a complete coarse spline 3.36 or 3.55 quite cheap.

have fun.   Grin Grin

20  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Re: Column Shift Turbo 400 Linkage on: November 26, 2008, 10:44:48 AM

What about auto WB commercials?   Huh

They were mainly column shift, and used a left hand side selector gearbox - maybe trimatic, but the crossover selector setup would be similar to the T350/400.

just a thought.   Grin
