Yes I have a 1956 single colour oceanmist green car that is completely original 97,000 miles and the dark green paint definately appears to have the tiniest amount of metallic appearance to it (with very small metal flakes) I am not up to your stage of painting so I cannot help you with the paint code but just agreeing that it is a metallic paint maybe someone out there knows?

I always understood it that it was FB's that were the mules, I remember reading an interview with a holden engineer who said there were a few FB holdens that had the autos fitted and used as testbeds,

Hi Craig about $5000.00 nowdays for the magnesium sprintmasters, I agree after owning two XU1's the Cd carbs are easy to tune and tend to hold tune fairly well, rather than move the battery to the otherside you may be able to incorporate a 4 cylinder battery tray and a decent small battery as the XU1's also did to give carby clearance.

Hi got back from the auction this morning (2:30 am) it was a great day and it was good to just see so many parts in one place, it was hard not to want to bid on everything, I managed to pick up a few good items and the only thing that didnt have a good time was my wallet and thanks to Ken for his assistance and for answering any queries I had about parts. See you again next year, regards mike.

Does anyone know when holden started using acrylic paint, i beleive it was at the start of FB's but was wondering if late FC's were done without advertising the fact as a lead up to the release of the FB,
