For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Upper Rear Window section from donor
|
on: October 17, 2011, 07:33:44 PM
|
Hi All,
I'm after the 'entire' top part of a sedan rear window - pillar to pillar and the brace section just inside the window mount area.
I got a nice surprise when I removed the rear window and found that area was rusted out due to a leaky seal. Whilst it *could* be rebuilt with a lot of effort, a cut and shut seems somewhat opportunistic here.
Does anyone have this area from a donor shell that might be usable?
Looking to get it to Moorabbin (Melbourne) or I can pick up if needed.
Regards,
Dale

I recall seeing this car in flat black and was the reason I asked if Vic's car was ever flat black. I am not sure this is Vic's car, but would be interested to know 1 way or the other. I will try to find the pic I took of the car in black. Regards Alex
Here's the story.... Victor sold the car back in 1983 (approx) when it was 'Candy Apple Red' to Mark Dickinson minus the motor and transmission. He then painted it flat black as is indicated here. Marh then apparently put a 350 Chev in it and according to Victor, it ran a 12.5 quarter. It's been seen since and is painted back in the 'purple' colour that was on it when Victor originally purchased it for $5.

Mark,
I'm interested in the bumper bar ends, the over-riders if any are straight (hard to tell - one looks to be dented) and the the batttery tray if it's OK.
I'm also looking for clean external door handles - mine are extremely pitted.
Spencer Street Melbourne pickup OK?
Cheers,
Dale

For Sale and Wanted / Reproduction Parts / Re: Plastic FC seat surrounds

hi SpeciFEcation,
you could make a 2 part mould however this would leave a casting line down the piece... not very nice when you are trying to repro the original finish.
Agreed. And this is where they fall down in quality - the join in the two part mould is clearly visible. A single piece plastic one is what is needed.... At $220/set (all round), that's fine by me.

We are trying to gauge the interest out there for plastic FC seat surrounds upper and lower made as per original at around $220.00 per set Les
Les, Harrisons regularly sells the lower surrounds for around $119 on E-Bay in fibreglass. Not sure if that helps... From first-hand experience, they are a very poor reproduction.
