Thanks FC247,

SO do you mean that the curved boot lid mount bracket holes originally werent slotted???
No matter what, the boot lid has to come off.
I will try try to rebend the offending bracket somehow, worth a go at least. Removing their hinge pins will be fun tho. hehe
Will update later on the outcome.

cheers

Hi all,

I am chasing the two vertical stainless moulds that separate the colours at the rear on the FC. They run from under the rear indicators down to the top of the bumper.

If anyone has any spare they'd like to offload, please PM me.

cheers

10  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: Alternator (excited???) on: June 12, 2005, 10:43:09 AM
hi fellas,
am a tad confudled with the blocking diodes you mention.
most alternators have 2 terms, a bolt for the battery (or ammeter) and the exciter terminal
power is fed thru the ign switch ON possie thru the GEN/ALT telltale lamp on down to the little push on term on the alternator, ususally lableled D+.
As the alternator is still, the light is on, once the donk starts and the alt sharts to charge it raises the voltage out the D+ term and the indicator lamp goes out.
The diode would definitely prevent the excitation.

12  Technical Board / Modification Help / Aussie 4spd rear mount on: April 27, 2005, 10:31:42 PM
hi fellas,
I am installing a red 186 and an aussie 4spd into an FC sedan. Have cut part of the hump out and am looking at how one should support the rear gearbox mount.
The simplest and dearest way would be to fit a hadfields chassis kit, but these are only required for V8's and V6's.
I am SURE I saw an pic of a fabricated mount made of blux box section in here somewhere, but i cannot find it anywheres.
If anyone can help with info or ideas on fab'ing up a new mount, it would be muchly appreciated.
