1  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: 307 into fc on: August 30, 2005, 12:30:41 AM
G'day mate
im starting to plan out my next project, an fc ute with a stock V8. im just wondering what the regulations are for such a conversion. Now i know that ill be using a HR fromt end, with Commodore disc's and a upgraded diff. I was wondering if there are any other areas that i may have to look into for this noble undertaking.
Cheers mate!

4  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Pannels - Fiberglass or steel? on: March 23, 2005, 03:29:19 AM
okay, looking at picking up some pannels to get the ute project under way, now fiberglass or steel? i know that the fiberglass arent perfrect and alot of work needs to be done to hang them, keep the paint the same as other pannels. but no rust... suppose the other down side is that i cant put my "classic not plastic" sticker on.. Cry
any one have much experience with the fiber pannels?
5  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Carburettor Rebuild on: March 23, 2005, 03:19:51 AM
Going to look at carburettor rebuild next, thoughts: rebuild myself or pay?
I know that there are a few very reasonably priced shops that do this, but would it be cheaper to d.i.y? what specifically would i need?
6  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: FUEL LINE on: February 21, 2005, 08:31:40 PM
steel eh? sorry to be a pain, but can steel still be used for fuel lines? i know that there has been a lot of discussion about that materials can and cant be used for plumbing lines. would there be any advantages of using copper, as that what was origianlly on my motor?
maybe im looking into this too deep... :-/

8  Technical Board / Modification Help / Hop Up! on: February 19, 2005, 12:29:27 AM
hows it goin fellas
been collecting and scrounging now for a little while and finally have enough pennys to get my donk back on line.
So far ive stiripped down the old girl and sourced a Waggott Twin carby manifold and some HQ carbies. instead of using the the dodgey speco linkages, ive used kick downs on the throttle shafts, makes things a bit tighter and not so sketchy looking.
ive got to pick up a finned aluminium rocker cover from somewhere, had one, lost one kinda deal.

Now any suggestions on head work? i want to chuck this into a fe/fc ute when i get a bit more bling bling. figure that the power to weight ratio will be a bit more friendly.
so the head dosent have to be too crazy, i was thinking bigger valves new springs etc.  but the big question what valves?

thats all for now though. should get some replies.
Cheers fellas!!!
