Is that what you'd call a long range tank?  Grin Grin Grin

Hi Whealy,

That's nice!
You don't see a lot of those utes around now.
3  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Re: Wanted - Bellhousing to suit Aussie 4 spd to grey motor on: March 21, 2018, 10:26:19 PM
Hi Rob, Many thanks, completely forgot I was still only running 1 mount at the front. Roll Eyes
Dellows still make their bellhousing, just waiting on an email with details.
I had hoped there would have been plenty of these lying around now.
I'm not in a hurry, so plenty of time to turn one up.

Regards,

Martyn

Thanks Scott.
I don't believe a red motor bellhousing will suit because it won't be set up to use the two rear mounts.
I could always make a crossmember to hold the back of the box instead.
The car has no floors to speak of right now!

5  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Wanted - Bellhousing to suit Aussie 4 spd to grey motor on: March 19, 2018, 09:05:05 PM
Hi all,

I bought an FC wagon that's completely original in specs but I'd like to fit an Aussie 4 spd floor shift behind the grey.
When you see pics of the car you'll see I'm not desecrating a good 'un. It's ratty and is going to stay that way.
This is the only change I'm going to make to it, other than fixing rust.
I figure this mod is pretty old school these days, so hopefully someone will have an unused Dellow bellhousing or equivalent to suit.
I might be wrong but I also think manual EJ's had a separate bellhousing that should suit.

Thanks, Martyn
6  Galleries / Project Cars - FEs and FCs Under Construction / Re: Crumpsnr FC Standard Sedan on: March 19, 2018, 08:57:41 PM
Hi all, op's over, shoulder's good.
The sedan is being used temporarily as a parts car for the wagon (see my other post) just to get it on the road but plans haven't changed.
I do have one change as the rules have caught up with me which is to do a collapsible column.
I pinched the front subframe for the wagon, but will fix up the wagon subframe over time and use it on the sedan.
Once I can sort out a Flickr account I'll start posting and re-posting my old Photobucket pics.

Hello all, long time no post! I've been stalking though  Grin
I've been busy and time flies!
I've had my shoulder op, and all is good.
Unfortunately in the job shuffle I took a position in Sydney, chasing the $ (more for car parts) but I'm now on the road 4 hours a day.
We can now list projects 4 and 5 since my last post. I picked up a dead original FC wagon, with fantastic patina. It's going on the road dead stock. Floors are full of rust but the body is fantastic. It's a dead ringer for lowlife's. Same colour and all.
I also picked up an EK wagon, ex shooting wagon, covered in moss but looks a lot worse than it is. Harv, might need a chat to swap notes about yours.
The big truck is a runner, and is about to be sold to make way for the 2 wagons.
I've been gathering bits for the little truck, which is going on an HQ ute chassis. FCDave even found an original pickup bed on an old Austin truck in the bush near Bundaoon.
I'm trying to work around the Photobucket issue so I can post pics.
More later!

Could fit 6 beers on that....
9  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: fc wagon door gaps on: April 23, 2017, 01:47:56 PM
Hi mate,

My 2 bob's worth is that I'd wait to do final gaps until all bolt on and ins are installed and the car's back on solid ground and had a chance to flex to its preferred position.

Nice work!

Martyn

Ad's gone now but I did see it. I believe my uncle bought that car a few years ago to rebuild then sold on before doing any work. I didn't think it was a junker, but many a project ends up being sold in bits...
18  General / General Board / Re: Member Poll and comments on: December 25, 2016, 01:38:46 AM
My 2 bob's worth:
Fantastic forum, and minus the ongoing arguments that seem to develop on other forums. Also a fan of how topics stay on topic, and I note and applaud the efforts of the administrators for their contribution to these outcome. Can't be easy.
I don't post a lot as progress on my projects is very slow, but I have massive admiration for the skills of others and their willingness to share their knowledge.
My only beef is the same as others. I've worked out how to post photos but it's an effort.
I like the ability to be able to preview a post.
I'd have no problem paying a fee to access the forum. It'd be money well spent in my opinion.

Thanks for the opportunity to comment,

Martyn

Hi Whealey,

Nice wagon. I'm envious.
Where on south Coast are you? Saw a mention of Batemans Bay but not in one of your posts. May have missed where you said your location. Up late waiting for excited daughter to drop off before playing Santa.
I'm near Shellharbour.

Saw Haydn's post re collapsible column needed for larger than 186. I'm doing an FC sedan with 186 and the mail I'm getting is that I need collapsible. Hope Haydn's right!

Regards,

Martyn
