1  Technical Board / General Technical / Spring hangers on: March 29, 2022, 08:49:04 PM
So I’ve shortened the BW diff, but not having the car or a standard diff handy I have no reference for locating the spring hangers  if anyone could give me the measurement center to center on the springs or hangers on a diff and maybe if there is any inclination built in ie are they level with the bottom of the diff or angled up or down?
Cheers and thanks in advance

Hi, I know this has probably been done to death.
I am shortening a VR VS diff for my FE sedan and my car is not accessible at this time, could someone give me the measurement of a standard rear wheel space from the outer edge of the chassis rail to the inside edge of the outer lip, thanks.
Any ideas on ideal length for running 15x7 with a 3.5" backspace i have been working on LJ Torana width, but find two different measurements being 1338 and 1370mm wide, wheel mount face to wheel mount face if anyone has used one or cut a diff down any info would be appreciated
Cheers Andrew

Hey,dont do this much, I recently got my fe on the road again after 5 years sitting replaced water pump(its a red motor) flushed radiator a large eh unit and replaced battery.shipped to Katherine where I liveand drove daily thru dry and wet seasons outside temp above 40c no external fan a flexfan fitted years ago no guage occasionally smells hot dosent use water.RU running a decent coolant Have you checked the whole cooling system ie. themostat hoses etc. If you are running standard radiator change it for bigger and make room
I dont know what engine or cooling system you are running blow thru fans are better but are they coming on when you are in traffic?this aint hard
