Thanks - am positive the original workshop manual indicates the FE control tube is the same (am at work).

I know this was a while ago, but is the FC steering shift still available  
Have only just posted a new Parts Wanted item looking for the gear selector control tube down the inside of the steering column (and the pivot assembly at the end of the gear selector lever). Am assuming the steering shift is the same thing
