1  General / General Board / Lifters on: February 18, 2002, 11:57:28 PM
Can anyone tell me if Repco still sells parts for the grey motors (lifters, pushrods, etc...).  I want to put a brand new cam, lifters and rods in my grey but can't seem to find new parts for it.

If it is not possible to buy new parts, can anyone give me the factory dimensions of the lifters and pushrods?

Can anyone please tell me where I might find a cross-flow head for a grey motor?  I would love to get a hold of one for my FB ute.  Thanks!

Does anybody out there know of any type of blower that will suit a grey motor.  I have only heard of a supercharged grey but never seen one.  I have a FB ute and was toying with the possibility of supercharging it for a bit of fun and something different.  Any help would be appreciated.
5  General / General Board / Re: RE; WHICH DISCS\STUB AXLES on: July 17, 2000, 12:00:00 PM
Leylan P76 disks fit the best and the Hadfield kit has the conversion parts to suit....the disks are narrower and are the same stud pattern as ford disks so the wheel sit further into the guard which makes it better for steering than the holden option

Thanks heaps for that. I had a better look at that door today the skin is good with very minor surface rust,it has two small rust holes underneath on the inner edge that should be very easy to repair and to my best knowledge it appears to be straight has no bog in it(you can see through the paint) . call me and we'll arange a place to meet round my area....even with a street directory its hard to find my place.

I was told by a guy at rare spares that the EK was only a single speed motor and that the two speed didnt appear till the next model..and was a different shape and bolt pattern . but more often than not most people recomend the EK unit.....was two speed an option or standard on the EK?Huh

I am currently building a small block powered FC 327 9" blah blah blah I know this will offend some people(sorry) but Im after some info on after market heaters ...electric or otherwise, manufacturing ducting is not a problem but finding a compact reliable heater is...any sugestions are most welcome. Also I have a single speed wiper motor can this be converted to two speed ? either by some internal changes or an external switching mechanism? any help would be most welcome....thanks

11  General / General Board / FB Ute comments on: May 17, 2000, 12:00:00 PM
I was fortunate enough to purchase good original FB ute recently & i have a few questions regarding the car 1. At about 60 miles an hour the engine seems to be reving quite hard, and quite noisy (by 2days cars standard) is this normal? or does the engine require timing or some other adjustment. 2. The steering seems a bit wandery around 40mph but improves in the higher speed ranges. 3. When the battery is left connected to the vehicle for a period of about 2 weeks without starting the vehicle it goes flat, is this an indication of battery condition or defective leads or normal failure under unused conditions?  Any comments would be appreciated as i am somewhat inexperianced but enjoying the car heaps.  Regards Scott
