Thanks guy's
Funny that they were released with out running the new batch through you guy's for approval, I had one on order & received a call last week as they were ready.

They do screw to the dash now but just don't fit very well.
The left & right screw holes above the fuel & light guage look to have been re located & have some sort of white body filler inserted to correct the screw hole location.

Have to wait & see what Ken finds out when he calls next week.

Rare Spares released the FC Dash Facia last week & I picked up a new one yesterday & returned it today as it did not fit correctly.

Has any one else purchased one of these in the last week & tried to fit it as they only had one other in store & it was the same as the one I returned.

I took in a complete dash panel with instruments with the original Holden facia to show the difference betwen the two & the staff also agreed that the new facia's were not correct & refunded my money & advised head office.

The moulding on the facia seems to be too deep & sits proud where it fits over the fuel & idiot light guage & does not fit flush enough onto the steel dash so that when mounted you can see the 2 top screw holes quite clearly & also the gaps around the guages.

It doesn't seem to fit too bad if no guages are fitted.

Just wondering what went wrong & hopefully we will have some soon that fit just perfect.

Rob.

Hard to find rust repair sections for the old girl, but you can get lucky picked up a complete floor sill to sill firewall to half way under seat NOS Holden from the Ballarat Swap meet last weekend now thats 50 years this has been sitting around gathering dust.

This will make the floor repair a fair bit easier once i drill out all the spot welds, a good few days here,

i will post a photo of the NOS floor soon.

SMS are a great company to deal with, My son has a 1977 CL Charger & I sent SMS a few photo's & they posted of a couple of fabric & a vinyl sample & it turned out they had what we wanted.
from receiving the samples to ordering enough fabric & vinyl we received the whole order in less than 12 days.
Good service & easy to deal with.
Check them out they must have acre's of trim material.

13  For Sale and Wanted / Auction and Trade Links / Re: Is this the same master cylinder that was on ebay? on: October 13, 2008, 03:32:35 PM
This seller must like wasting his time what are the chances he can find a $1,000 stooge ......FC427.....

Don't Know about stooge as his add says it all "First One to hit   "But-It-Now"  .........

.........  is the lucky Winner !" so it must be Butt head.

he mentions that he also has a NOS bare master cylinder he will be listing shortly, I wonder how much he will want for it as i saw one at the last Holden Day here in Vic for I think $30 odd dollars.

Nice looking van.
Good luck with the resto.
I see you have more than 1 FC awaiting it's turn.
Regards
Alex

Hi, Alex
The other FC is a 1959 Wangarra Grey over Ascot Grey wagon with Fall Red & Black trim & was last registered HAU 524 & I suspect started in 1970 & I still haven't got around to starting it, it still has the original rego sticker, originally brought it for spares about 7 years ago for $280.00 but too good to wreck when i got it home so I stuck it in the garrage & its still there.

the guy i brought it off had been given it & was going to convert his FJ to FC 13" wheels & then changed his mind so the only thing missing are 3 brake drums.

It was found in some guys grand fathers shed after he passed away & I would say that it was one of those old farm sheds where the car was driven in & the back would stick out slightly and over time the tyres had gone flat & the front windscreen rubber shrunk & when it rained the rain would run down the roof & leak through the windscreen rubber & has rusted out the floor pans.

I would say that the reason for it going in the shed after only 11 or 12 years on the road was the result of an accident as it has a set of fibreglass front mud guards, Fe bonnet & slight damage to the L/H front door.

Also come with the cargo area packed with parts like remote oil filter & a glass washer bottle so it was an excellent buy.

Regards Rob

Hi, Ken
I would say its a Bailey's conversion - it does have the funny little flip over clip that acts as a window lock for the sliding window?
Body does have the usual rust in the front of the sills, front floor pans & subframe where the stableliser bar mounts & across under the radiator.

i have all the rust repair sections except the subframe stableliser bar section, I have a second hand one of these from an old wreck but it needs a little work before it is usable.

Here's a few photos of the poor old girl getting ready for the rust repairs.
