For Sale and Wanted / Other Stuff For Sale / Body Rotisserie for sale
|
on: January 02, 2023, 04:22:42 PM
|
Hi, I have a commercially made rotisserie for sale, used for a HQ Holden ute body which is now back off the unit, so have no further use for it. It is a factory made, fully adjustable one with hydraulic rams, etc. in very good condition, has never been outside the shed it currently is in. Can be adapted for any body, just needs mounting plates made to suit the application. I have photos and can text to anyone. If any interest, PM your phone number for photo reply or text me. Located in eastern Vic. Price $800. My contact 0419884298 Cheers and best new year wishes. Glenn

Hi all, we can add Ballarat swap meet to the list of "CANCELLED" outings. Notified yesterday that the event is cancelled due to wet ground at the area of the new location, plus the fact that toilets, generators, marquee's.,etc. are in high demand for flood relief work. Swap site paid bookings are to be refunded due to unknown future of event!! Bummer. Cheers, Glenn

Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: Sandblasting versus Pickle/Acid dipping

There is a powder coating/sand blaster in Bairnsdale that has done panel work for me and others on old cars. He is very careful and aware of what can happen if not correctly done. I have had him do the "edges" and openings and around tight areas, door and window openings, guard edges, door edges, firewall, fuel filler openings, etc. I strip the flat panels by hand, like centre of bonnet, roof, door, quarters, boot, etc. I have used him on my FC, Valiant Pacer and will use him to do the same on my Sandman ute. He has also done the heavy items, diffs, chassis, suspension, wheels, etc. on all my cars. Contact me on 0419884298 for more info, if interested. Cheers, Glenn

Hi, Interested to hear other members reply to this post, as I think this brand of speed equipment is unusual. Been in the game a long time and had a bit to do with speed accessories, but until I obtained a pair of cast iron exhaust headers recently clearly named LYN I had not come across this brand. Any history would be very interesting. Cheers, Glenn

Don't mean to be picky, but how is it a one owner if the original owner isn't around and you now own it? That makes it at least 2 owners. Or was the original owner a family member? If that's the case, it is still a one family car distinct from a "one owner".

The thick oil in the bell housing could be engine oil that is contaminated with dust from the clutch plate linings over a long time. Or the same result from gearbox oil and clutch dust. Cheers, Glenn

Technical Board / General Technical / Re: Harmonic balancer oil leaks

Hi, having owned many Holdens with grey motor, I have to agree that oil leaks are part of the deal. I have had some cases where the oil leak appears to be timing case seal, but is actually coming from between the front engine plate ( the plate behind the timing gears with the engine mount fitting) and the block. Can be quite an extensive leak from between the block face and this plate. Just a thought. Cheers, Glenn

Interesting. I know Peter Verbeek had a black FE or FC in the 60'S with a Repco cross flow on it. There was a red FE traded in to Smiths Motors, St.Arnaud also in the 60'S that I almost bought. It was a nice car, nicely done up. I remember it had a full tinted laminated screen in it (very few about at that time) it had a new head lining and because of the heavily tinted screen, it had no internal visors fitted. No holes in the new lining. I was without a car as I had written off my red powered FC in the trees in the Avenue of Honour west of Ballarat. Great times had in our cars in the 60'S. In fact great times had everywhere!! Cheers, Glenn

That 5K in a paper bag sounds nice, just wonder how that will hold up if you ever need a warranty repair!

Hello, Good you have found a reliable engine re-conditioner. I may be wrong, but I think 3 1/16 + .060" is closer to 3 1/8 bore as 1/16" is .0625", while 1/8" is .125", therefore 3 1/16" + .060" would be approx 3 1/8". This is a good, reliable size for an oversize bore. Cheers.

Technical Board / Restoration Help / Oil filler breather cap

Hi, Maybe a silly question, but can anyone tell me when the oil filler/breather caps changed from no embossed wording on the top to having the embossed words. Which were the earlier version? Thanks, Glenn
