4  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: FC Y FRAME on: June 03, 2003, 11:31:36 AM
Jim,
No i wasn't aware  that you could by replacements, the rust is mainly on the passengers side near were it bolts the front end on and accross the section under the radiator, were do i get these parts from Harrisons?
Thort it might be easier to by a replacement Y frame if i found one.

10  Technical Board / General Technical / FC Y FRAME on: June 02, 2003, 05:55:56 AM
Just i question on the FC Y frames.
Might sound silly but i am still fairly new to the removal process.
I have found some rust in my Y frame and i was wondering when it is removed and replaced with a differdnt one how do i go about changing the origional chassis NO back on as i understand it is all one peice. Or does the inner guard unbolt from the Y frame. Just want it to stay origional and not look as if it has been cut and shut.
Look forward to your replies.
Thanks Trent.

Well first of all let me say it would be more fun stripping the FC than the misses. he he.
Well not too sure what im going to do yet first it is a 59 Special Sedan was stored for many years but has had a few coats of paint, the body is fairly straight with the usual minor rust and still runs the mighty Gray motor.
I will strip it and see what is under the paint and then  go the orig two tone blue colors.
I would really like to drive it daily so have a few mods in mind essentially keep the body origional.would like to  run a red motor with an auto but dont wan't to have to go the additional chassi kits as i dont really know what they involve, and with what motor combination yet.
Cheers Trent.

Craig,
Really enjoyed seeing the restoration,The car is a credit to you. Good for you sticking with the origional colors.
Question:Was your car painted in Two Pac or Acrilic paint as i noticed that the bolt off pannels were done after the main body, this can often lead to a different finish of the gun unless it was Acrilic paint and you rubbed the whole thing down once back together.
Thanks Trent.

Hey Cat,
just wondering is that your car with garfield on it and if so what are the paint codes i really like those colors and it looks like a early 58 paint job,is it origional.
Thanks Trent.
