Technical Board / General Technical / Re: tasman mags illegal?

Thanks for the help Harko, i am sure mine are original 13" tasmans but as i dont have access to the wheels right now because the car is in the shop i am going to assume that they are welded and not worry so much about getting new wheels.
Cheers Matt

Does anyone know how much a set of tasmans would be worth in fair condition? And also ive been told that they are illegal in vic know with the new regs because of the way that the centres are connected to the rims, is there any way to get around this? Cheers, Matt

Technical Board / General Technical / Twin SU's Vs Twin Strombergs
|
on: October 13, 2003, 05:35:19 AM

Hey everyone, my knowledge of carbies is a bit lacking, i know what they do and thats about it.
I have an LC GTR Torana with a worked 202 (I know this is an FE/FC forum but you guys are so much more helpfull than most of the guys on the torana forums and usually know more than them to, plus my dream is to own a nice FC Special one day) i am trying to figure out what carby setup to use and was thinking of either twin SU's or twin stromy's as i cant afford to buy or run tripples but will consider any setup, i am currantly running a single twin throught stromy and also have a 350 Holly double pumper and manifold sitting in the shed that i took off as it chewed through to much fuel (i am on a bit of a student budget) any ideas?
cheers Matt

Thanks for the info Alex, is Tasman the brand or the design, because i have heard of Tasmans but was under the impression that they were similar to American racing rims or "jelly bean mags" ?
Also I am after a set of center caps to suit these mags and cant for the life of me find any, I would rather plain one's as the originals just get nicked, but im not fussed originals look better anyway.
Cheers Matt

Hey guys,
One problem with changing from ford stud pattern to holden is that ford use 1/2" studs and Holden use 7/16 studs :-/.
plus im guessing that there falcon, & there pitch circle is alot larger than early holden
