13  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: Chev bellhousing bolts on: January 19, 2006, 06:39:43 AM
Thanks Al.
would certainly explain why I'm not getting good thread engagement.
hoping that the complete thread isn't knackered, don't fancy tapping the holes in place.
but the 2 bolts I took out were most definately M10 but of diferent grades
the more I look the more problems I find...

14  Technical Board / Modification Help / Chev bellhousing bolts on: January 19, 2006, 01:07:53 AM
anyone know of what size & grade bolts should be holding the bellhousing to a chev 327 block?

just pulled mine out of the block and they're high tensile M10.

I would have though that the early chev blocks would be imperial.

it has got surface rust from the poor factory chroming, I'll bring it on Sunday for you to have a squiz

It's even got a dust coated filter and 2 of the clips to hold it together. Smiley

18  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: Original 1 piece radio antenna on: November 25, 2005, 12:04:47 AM
I can also attest to having the aerial in the panel below the front window on 1 FE and 1 FC wagon both on passenger side
the other FC has the aerial filling the hole where the windscreen visor once stood on the roof (not original i thinks).

19  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: rear demisters on: November 09, 2005, 05:12:02 AM
Kiwi, that's the DIY type I was trying to avoid. I'm trying to replicate the professions look of the copper strips bonded to the window glass like the modern sedans etc...

brings back memories though, set alight to my first holden with one of those kits when I shorted one of the wires to the body, lucky for me I'd already taken out the flooring and it was just the residual hessian that went up.

I found that the aluminium strips are too fragile and since I'm putting captian destructo our dog in the back it wouldn't last long.

20  Technical Board / Modification Help / rear demisters on: November 09, 2005, 02:37:02 AM
has anyone had any luck putting a demister on their rear window. (bar type)
the only option I've come across in the west are equivalent to sticking strips of aluminium foil to the rear window and they look  Tongue

I'm looking for an aplication similar to what's on the modern car windows of today.

Just startingto do the research now and most of the companies I'm going to try are over yonder in the east.

any help would be appreciated.
