1  Technical Board / Restoration Help / front grill on: September 19, 2010, 09:56:55 AM
Just wondering if the inner piece of the grill comes out without taking the front gaurds off.

I've got the outer chrome bits off but didn't know how far I had to go.
2  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Rust repair section on: August 28, 2010, 11:35:48 PM
Does anybody know if the rust repair section from rare spares RP2033, is the one that goes along the back of the boot.

Just above the fuel filler.

Can't really tell from the photo on the website.

Thanks Ken, got that trim off without to much trouble.

Pretty glad I didn't become a spray painter because this bodywork stuff is no good.(then again if I was a spray painter I'd know what to do)

Still going anyway, put some more photos up soon.

Will look at those strip discs tomorrow, thanks for all the advice.

Mc Bean, I am located in Darwin,

Another thing( Sorry ) The chrome strip that goes around the front and rear door arches, is there an easy way to get this off without stuffing it.  Don't want to wreck to much if I can help it.

Am starting to sand back the hand me down FE, (by hand). Have been reading on here you can use orbital sanders. Is this the same  sort of sander you would get from Bunnings or would you need to get a speacially designed one from a spray paint supplier. As you can probably tell I havnt done anything like this before so any advice would be good. ( No snikkering in the background you blokes)

Not to sure whether to leave the a/c on or take it off and clean up the engine bay.

Has a bit of rust around where the boot seal goes, don't think it should be to hard to cut it out and weld another bit in.

This is a car I got in some sort of family deal ( I think I got the better end of the deal ).

Its already been fitted with a chev, 2 speed powerglide and a 9 inch.

It was my daily driver for 3 years untill a new house, a new shed and a few money issues got in the way.

Now its back and ready to have the body work done, not having done any of this before, it could be very challenging.

Any tips on how to get photos up and I'll put some up.

If these photos didn't work i'll try again later on.
