2  For Sale and Wanted / Cars For Sale / EJ Special Sedan project on: June 08, 2015, 06:38:32 PM
I've just picked up a new HR project, and have decided to let go of the EJ Special project car.
The car has no engine or gearbox, but is mostly complete otherwise. Doors and boot have been painted (poorly) by a previous owner, so I do not know what they are like underneath. Guards have the usual rust, bonnet is in reasonable condition but still needs some repair work.
Bumpers are OK but nothing spectacular.
The body itself isn't too bad, doglegs and parts of the sills have been replaced due to rust, and rear beaver panel has been repaired but needs more work. Floors still have a few layers of paint/deadener on them so condition is unknown - feel free to come and poke it with a screwdriver and see what lies beneath.
The car has a matching set of EH door trims, and a front and rear seat in need of reupholstering.
Basically, the photos tell the story and you can see most of the parts that are there with the exception of the front seat. Front seat is fairly intact with the exception of a big vinyl patch on the driver's side bottom squab, but could be used as is for a while if you wanted.
The car previously had a red 202, 4 speed and HR front end fitted but this is all long gone - currently rolling on a loosely assembled EH crossmember to get it moving.
Original colour is Walhalla Gold with Atherton Ivory roof, Interior code is Alligator and Elephant Grey with Feathertop Grey.
I'm asking $1200. Call me on 0450 511 961 if you'd like to ask any questions or arrange a time to come and have a look at the car. The car is located in North West Sydney
Cheers,
James
3  For Sale and Wanted / Parts For Sale / EH Sump and pickup on: December 11, 2012, 05:34:46 PM
I've got an EH sump and pickup for sale, removed from a running 202. Both have been given a decent clean and the sump has been stripped and given a quick coat of primer to protect it from the elements. 2 little wavy bits where someone has tried to knock dints out but otherwise nothing wrong with it. Drain plug looks pretty good too, hasn't been butchered
Asking $150 pickup from Castle Hill, Sydney

I don't jump on here all that often, so it's probably best to just give me a call on 0450 511 961

4  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / 138 or 149 red motor (runner) on: November 05, 2012, 07:42:27 PM
G'day guys,
Been a while since i've been on here - plenty of good builds still going on.
I'm doing an EJ project for my girlfriend, and unfortunately it's already had a 202 and 4 speed put in (not engineered).
What i'm after is either a 138 red or 149 in decent running condition (ie no smoke, knocks, decent bores etc etc) either with all bolt ons or without, as this way I can use a red without the need for engineering (will use an EH front end to avoid changing engine mounts, plus the bonus of slightly bigger brakes).
Or alternatively some over bore 149 pistons or 161.
Thanks in advance,
Jimmy

I hated those hotwires at first, but they sorta grew on me. personally i reckon the stance on that car is spot on even with hotwires. maybe plain chromies 13" front 14" rear.
I couldn't believe the wiring either-bypassed it all to get that little starter switch set up working.

If this is for the fc van you should maybe put a lock on the passenger door for starters  Cheesy
My ignition coil is moved inside the cabin on the inside of the firewall hidden by a sheet (which was originally going to be a trimming board under the dash-never got around to it)
The ignition has several isolator switches and is in the ashtray compartment, and central locking isolates battery power as well when the doors are locked.
Not unstealable-but really not many cars are with the right stuff. It'll slow em down though!

Ideally if i had the money i'd go with one of those alarms that detects the car being tilted, bumped hard or doors, boot or bonnet being opened. Coil on the inside of the firewall, maybe an isolator switch for starter or coil power, and switch for fuel pump if it was electric.
Or even better, a shotgun rigged up aimed at a scumbag's head!

Hope this gives you some ideas.

that's bitchin! bit of metalflake and some scallops and it'd look like a real 60's show car

THanks fella's.

Don't have any photos for this, but spotted an (FC i think, didn't see much of it) flat black, lowered, young looking bloke driving it. It was pretty loud and sounded good, flew past me at a roundabout and may have gone into the servo or the Vicar pub. plates were xxx-13L from memory.  Just wondering if anyone knows the guy or if he's on the forum-i wana pick his brains about something

Thanks very much for your replies Alex and Keith-very helpful, even though it's an EK i'll be sure to put up some photos for everyone.

Hi Alex,
I'm looking at putting an aussie 4 behind the grey in my auto body EK, just a few questions....
Clutch-standard FE/FC/FB/EK pedal and master cylinder etc?
You mentioned somewhere in the thread that you need a Dellow adapter for the slave cylinder, what slave cylinder is needed?
Speedo cable, which one did you use (and what ratio diff do you run)
I've pretty much got a handle on the adapters to move the shifter forward-between me and dad (vmx-mxr) we should be able to nut that out.
Not sure if the front gearbox mounts on an FC are the same as EK, but did you make an adapter plate to use original mounts?
Did you make a rear mount for the box?

Thanks in advance,
Jimmy
