I think it is the 'Versailles' model. Here's a fancy one:

very similar to a '57 Simca Vedette, albeit in poor shape:

The 4th photo down on this page looks almost identical - squared off wheel arches and distinctive chrome trim which curves down following the front wheel arch. The only thing that is in a slightly different position is the side indicator which looks a bit high.

I used Carstrip for difficult areas like this. Very happy with the results. This was a few years ago.

the clocks come up pretty frequently on ebay (think they must have been fitted to a variety of UK cars). The surround is impossible to find - need to make your own. Ken has a template I think.

many of the twin carb manifolds actually curve up and sit much higher than the standard manifold. With the carbs and reasonable air cleaners on top you can start to get pretty close to the bonnet. I suspect that many people leave spacers off for this reason i.e. to actually gain a bit of space (I did).

thanks Glen....I'm coming around to the same conclusion too....the angles just don't seem quite right.
12  Technical Board / Modification Help / twin carb linkage on: May 29, 2011, 06:34:52 PM
I wonder does anyone have any pictures of the connection between a twin carb setup and the standard throttle linkage?

I've been puzzling over this for a while now. It seems to me that it is not very easy to convert the motion of the standard throttle linkage (which moves down and toward the firewall) with that required for a twin carb manifold (the movement required being at 90 degrees to the above but also not directly above the throttle lever). Not clear how this can work without a lot of slop in the linkage. Any advice most appreciated.  Or do you just go over to a cable setup?

The appropriately named Holden in the Uk do them as well...pretty expensive though:

Hi Han,

Just thought that I would let you know that there was a guy at the Ballarat swap meet selling repro Nasco mudflaps for early holden and Torana. I think he has been doing this for quite a while as he had a whole bunch with him....looked OK. His name is Travis Waters (email: travwaters at hotmail.com).

No idea how they compare with yours of course but thought that it would be useful for you to know..

18  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / impala linkage on: February 19, 2011, 07:04:53 PM
does anyone have one of these small linkages spare (for impala floorshift) that they would consider selling?

I have tried to make one up but without a template to work off, I'm not having much luck.

cheers, jon
