What Ret said + 3 , plus we just don't have the population to keep our car industry viable, especially when Japan has Devalued it's yen, China is Forcing it's currency low, the US is Printing Cash like theres No Tomorrow and Aust Allow Rubbish like GW and Sherri to be imported into this country, plus the Aust. Wages are huge compared to most places in the world. I don't know what we can do now? I hope Adelaide doesn't turn into another Detroit !

General / General Board / Re: SA Historic Modified Club Rego

Thanks Stewy, I bought my FE stock standard but it would have cost a Bomb to rebuild the Grey motor, King Pin Front End and Brakes, plus still drive very ordinary. It drives, steers, stops and rides very safely now. I think they should allow some safety mods and replacement engines if they are not easily avail or too costly. Looks like I'll be putting full reg back on her soon. I would like to join the club but have been too slack to go to a meeting, I live in Surrey Downs TTG area.

Technical Board / Modification Help / Rear Seat Options for Sedan ?
|
on: April 17, 2012, 04:41:57 PM
|
I am looking to fit bucket seats and matching rear seats to my FE Sedan, the buckets are no problem but I really need a rear seat to fit nicely first. Does anyone know what car and model rear seats to try? I have tried VN but they are too wide and low. I don't want Early Holden as they are hard and expensive to get.

I did 13 bango,s when i was on my P,s ended up putting a centura diff in it. I use to carry a spare and a jack and all the bits to change it .. 32 minutes is my record. Where you at i have a heap laying around? Isnt it funny how different ratio,s do different things 2.78 and 3.08 do sun gears 336 and 355 do the outer bearings and lay the crown over 3.89 do the input bearing and just go real loud bang. Now that takes me back to my Youth ! I used to blow diffs like that when I was 16 and had to take a regular trip to the local car dump to Pull out...another "Good Diff" Ended up having 2 or 3 in the boot as spares just in case

9 times out of 10 if the car was running ok ( faster ) before the head work, it will probably be something you changed or ajusted during the headwork eg. fitted new points or coil etc. Another thing to check with a timing light is to see if centrifugal bob weights inside the dizzy are giving you proper advance timing at high speed. If I was local I'd have a look at it for you.
