Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: Paint mixing codes

What no-one has really said here is that today's paints need different mixing codes to those previously used as there is no longer any lead in the paint and also use different base chemicals. Further none of the local manufacturers have done any translations as the market is to small. So the common method is to paint match with unfaded samples and keep their own records. Eastern Auto Paints had a good library but it changed hands a few years ago so not sure how reliable that is.

Suppose that depends on what type of spraying you want to do, bits and pieces or whole car. Looking at other brands on ebay it would appear they overstate their specs, or are Peerless conservative. Like me I think customFC would like to hear what others have got as well and their experiences with different brands.

Been going thru this process too, the problem is there are lots of quoted HP and KW errors when you compare. There's no cheap compressor. Main consideration is whether you have a 15 Amp mains outlet available or are restricted to the standard 10 Amp. At the moment I'm thinking this Peerless. Have a look at the spec sheet attached to this ebay add. (You can get them cheaper than this just used this for the convenience. Slow revving is ideal also as it keeps cooler.

Hello Ret A Google search brings up the wrong address and index page, that has no links attached therefore the 404 error. I assume in the past this was correct and there been some address changes this year. Google has a habit of finding pages that are no longer in use, if this is the case maybe you can put a redirect page in place of the old page, while people still have the old address in their favorites or are finding via search engine. Anyway your the expert on these matters, I'm just throwing in a suggestion. This is probably only effecting those using PCs not tapatalk. Cheers Keith

Safety first I think, remember most drivers out there wouldn't be looking for a flashing red, and then would be thinking faulty rather than turning. I suffer a similar problem when reversing the EH no one recognizes twin amber as reversing.
