1  For Sale and Wanted / Cars For Sale / 1959 FC Rolling Shell For sale on: December 14, 2010, 02:12:55 AM
Hello all,

Got a 1959 Rolling Shell that has been sandblasted and primed. Unfortunatley the project got too big for me and need to sell asap.
I also have  a 138 grey engine and parts for the FC
I'm located in Townsville.
Fair amount of work needs to be done.
Photos of the rolling shell available on request.
If you know somebody that may be interested, please let them know.

thanks smithy.

Really only want a basic sound system that produces reasonable sound.  Don't want any Doof doof so we aren't planning on any subs.

Thanks for all of the replies.  I think we'll try some splits (tweeters under dash and speaker in kick panel).  The material cover is a good idea too.

Hi all,

We are about to take the old girl down to the panel beaters for some rust work and a respray and I thought we should nut out the speaker placement before hand so that any surgery that needs to be done is done while it's in the shop.

I now about the headlight buckets in the kick panels and placing speakers in the doors, but I can't seem to find any specific info.

What headlight buckets are you using?  How big a speaker can fit? Does anyone have speakers in the doors?

For the rear I'm thinking of using a speaker spacer and putting 6x9's on the parcel shelf.

A picture says a thousand words so if anyone can post a pic/writeup of their speaker setup (front/rear) that would be much appreciated.

thanks

OK, thanks for that.

Certainly seems like a strange spot to have the switch.  I'm pretty sure ours has a high/low switch on the actual headlight siwtch on the dash.  I'll have to check it out though.

cheers

Hi all,

Just finished stripping the old FC to a rusty (it's not toooo bad) rolling shell and I have a question about a switch that is located on the floorpan in between the brake and clutch pedal.

What is it?

Maybe it is the kickdown switch for an auto?  Ours is a manual so maybe it once was an auto.  Or maybe i'm completely off tha mark.

Any help appreciated

Hi all,

Just thought I would introduce myself and the 1959 FC sedan that we've acquired recently.
I know the car is a special that has had an 138 EJ motor dropped in.  It has recently had an engine rebuild, according to the receipts it was bored out 60 tho (eeek).
We (she, with my help) intened to restore the old girl to originalish condition to be used as a sunday cruiser.
The car has some subframe rot, front/rear fender rust, sill rust and floorpan rust (all common I assume).

My first question is that we are looking for someone in the Townsville (North QLD) area that is recommended to undertake the major rust repairs I've mentioned.

Anyway, g'day all and I look forward to learning from the guys and girls who've done it all before.
