How are you going?

About 5 weeks after your post i royally smashed my tibia into 5 pieces which took 14 screws and a titanium plate to put back together, after 26 months i feel that my ankle is back to about 75
% and no longer walking with a limp.
Needless to say not much has happened in that time, but i am about to get back into it as i am running out of time to make my 50th in August next year.

Yes mate that's on the list as well.
Cheers.

I'm surprised it passed inspection without any strengthening, it was registered when you got it ?

Well i cant believe its almost 4 years since i did any work on the FC or posted any updates  Angry . Not that there has been any real updates thought i have done some small updates in this time, but it has made it out into the sunlight in probably the first time since it went in just after the garage was finished - in 1988 !
Have got a couple of new toys since being a 74 Kombi and a Triumph Daytona T595 , things have got a bit easier both financial and family wise so now have a bit more time for the toys.
Still dont have a garage to work in at home but working on fixing that shortly.

11  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: What model Ford vented disc will go on HX Stub Axle and Calliper? on: August 24, 2010, 01:31:57 PM
Does anyone know what model Ford vented disc will go on HX Stub Axle and Calliper?
Just trying to get the Ford Stud Pattern to match the rear end to have the same wheels all 'round. (I Have XA Falcon 9" on the rear)
I have Holden HX discs and callipers at the moment.
Any help will be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure P76 rotors use holden bearings and have ford stud pattern so fit HQ-WB stubs.

Ford twin fans with shroud is a popular fit and may be about the right size, think they are off AU and other fords.

Thanks for the offer Keith but I think I'll pass on that one, I've never forgotten the time I spent in sth. No worries water jet died today they are flying up from melbourne tommorow so when im back in business i will cut them.

So i was meant to cut seat spacers and a lot of jobs today but it didnt happen.

Hi Pete, how much for a pair of saddle's ? might save me bodging up a pair, i dont need any extra lowering so only require about 1/2" between axle tube and top side of saddle - FC sedan with original but reset springs and VB/VH salisbury diff .

regards,
Nick.

I Thought that too but the only way to get it right that way is to use a VL axle but they are all 25 spline except VL Turbo which are dear as poison and like rocking horse poo.

But i just read a article of someone selling a shortened borg warner on e bay they use a salisbury axle and had it re splined.

Or as you are probably a cruiser not a racer get a engineering shop to cut it machine a dowel in it and weld it cheap and works unless you start pushing it.

heres my saddles i make better than lowering blocks i make a fair few .

These dont have stiffening gusset welded in yet to stop sideways movement also i use HK,T,G lower spring plate with wagon ute leaves or flat FC plate with sedan springs.

Hi mate, do make the saddle brackets to order at all ?

Update, update. Its been a busy time last few months and last sunday got a chance to do some more on my FC, fitted the new rotors/bearings/seals and put the BMW wheels on so i could drop it on the ground for the first time in 20 years  Shocked, still have to make the brackets to mount the diff but its starting to look like a car again. Wheels are the wrong offset but will do untill i get the rest sorted out and at least i can maneuver it around the garage to remove the 179 and make the mounts for the Buick V6.

Mate you are on the right track, Wink Just don't make the mistake if you end up overseas longer than planned of selling the project (you'll always regret it). I know that due to working away and having part built projects when I was younger I sold a couple of cars that I now regret,my son built a WB ute and every now and then he got frustrated and said he'll sell it. I told him to throw a cover over it and walk away from it for a while, it must have worked as he's still got it and glad he didn't sell.

Good luck with the FC Cool

Too right, i bought my FC back in 85 and then did about 60% of the current mods to it. Then in late 90 i went overseas for a 6 month holiday and came back 4 years later, the FC sat in my dads 12 car garage under a cover up on axle stands untill last weekend - thats right it hasnt moved in 20 years and not much in 25 years. Shocked .

Luckily i never believed it was a financial proposition to sell it so it has sat there all that time . I have gathering parts for an update for the last 18 months and last Sunday it hit the ground for the first time in 20 years. Here it is as it sits today -
