Rob, Thanks for the heads up, i was aware that the tool was only used on the lower wishbone but thanks anyway. I have managed to get a replacement lower control arm shaft. I have yet to check on its fit into the cross member for security as the old one was obviously loose and had worn the shaft quite significantly. I have made myself up the replacement/removal shaft tool and hoping that the shaft still has an interference fit into the crossmember!
Your comment regarding the seals was of interest to me as i would have been right pissed off fitting them only to have them break away. The heater hose option sounds like the go. As yet i have not received the dimensions for the special tool spacer! I could wing it for size, however, the manual is quite specific regarding the crush ft/lbs specs of the bush onto the shaft. Further, i am somewhat perplexed by the manual reference too " when fitting the new lower control arm shaft remover/installer tool fit it to the front end of the shaft (marked "F")" I have not been able to discern any marking "F" on either shaft (new or old) Any further advice or suggestions will be gratefully received, thank you.

Hi All, Currently replacing all the front wishbone seals along with the lower inner flogged out shaft. Should anyone have the special tool spacer would they please provide the dimension specs of the tool please so i can make one to assist with replacing the wishbones to the front end. Hi All, In the process of removing doors,panels and front/rear windscreens etc prior to full rubber replacement and hood lining. I reside in the Latrobe Valley in Morwell and have approached AsClear to blast panels, however, they have work coming out of their ears and panels are really not their scene, although they could do them in 6 months time. My understanding is that there is no longer any dipping facility out this way especially with the demise of the electrical powerhouses etc. I have not been able to track down a pickle/acid place thus far, hence my inquiry.
My questions therefore are: What is considered the better procedure blasting or pickle/acid dipping? My understanding is that blasting can create pock marking of the surface, however, with modern paint products etc that can be rectified? Can anyone suggest the better or preferred method and a suggested facility in or around the greater Melbourne area? As always I will be grateful of your assistance in this matter. Good Day All, I have now found time to spend working on my FC at last. The 3 things highest on my priority is to replace all of the rubbers/bailey channel/ glass rubbers. I would also like to get my wife's fingernails and teeth out of the dash by putting a brake booster in the system to allay her fears of stopping! Also would like to change the diff ratio to something more conducive so one can hear the conversation and/or radio at 50MPH!!
Therefore, can anyone give me the heads up on rubber kits, having heard and read some details for/against Rares and others? Any suggestions as to were to start getting a booster kit and I think i have a spare diff centre for modification if i can source bits or exchange.
I am coming over to the north island to Melbourne in March and could source any or all componentry should members suggest any Melbourne based suppliers. I do have some other enquires, however, consider that this will keep me quiet for a period of time.
I will be grateful of any assistance/suggestions members maybe willing to furnish and thank you all in anticipation of your help.

Hi All,
Chasing a wiper knob should anyone have one. Mine has disintegrated leaving the outer chrome bezel only!!! I am still using the vacuum wipers, although have come by an electric motor so could convert, however will still need a knob.
Would perhaps like to stay original if possible with the old vac jobs!
Any help or direction would be appreciated.

Hi ED would appreciate being able to order a set of demister ducts and any associated fitment accessories and instructions for my FC which is about to have a heater fitted. Further, are you aware if you can still get hold of (from memory) the old brass water cock which was fitted into the head to turn the flow of water to the heater on/off??
Please advise when you are doing next production run and details of your bank etc so i can transfer funds. Thanks have a good day in which ever shed you are currently working in!!!!

Hi All, Recently i scored(in very good nick) a 'toa denso' under dash heater. It is the round type with the front opening doors and two outlets to connect flex duct to for the windshield demisting.Resembles for all intensive purposes the original 'nasco or smiths' heaters i suppose. Looking on the firewall, the cut out for the heater hoses is in the centre behind the rocker cover. My question however, concerns the placement of the heater unit under the dash (as i believe that having yet to source a radio for fitment) i understand that depending on whether a heater is installed correctly dictates the style/type of radio that can be installed?? Also, has anybody any ideas regarding fabrication of two duct/disperses to accommodate the demister vents? Therefore, can anyone please give me details/photos/specs for installing the heater so as not to interfere with any anticipated radio fitment down the track? Whilst here, somewhere along the line the gear shift knob on the column shift lever has gone missing. Would anybody happen to have an original spare please? Thanks for your help. Cheers Norman

Hello Fellow FC Enthusiasts, I am currently doing the brakes up on my FC. Have had all the cyl's etc resleeved,new bonded linings etc. Out of a number of brake drums I have only been able to scrape together 3 within tolerance to take a radius grind. Hello All, A new member and recent purchaser of an FC Black and White in colour sedan i wish to have clarified or authenticated please the following: the FC was built in 1958, only a few ( number unknown) were in fact painted black and white, these were only sold in Victoria and were released in conjunction with Collingwood winning the grandfinal in the then VFL after a drought of some 5 years!( it has been a longer drought this time around!!) I find this to be too coincidental insomuch as GMH were in those days a big employer, it could be constrewd that one of the hierchy of GMH could have been a collingwood supporter with clout to pull of such a heist. Should this be proven to be in fact true, how many were coloured black and white? Having followed collingwood fc all my life it would be great to think that i have a piece of worthwhile memrobillia to compliment my remaining years of enjoyment and following of the magpies. Whatever the outcome i will be keeping my FC in the original colours of black and white. Thanks for your time.
