2  Technical Board / General Technical / Timing or Dizzy? on: March 20, 2008, 05:58:43 PM
I have recently given my FC some new plugs, leads, battery, carby, oil etc.

After replacing all of this gear, I turn the engine over and not much happens. It wants to but all I hear are the 'ticks' of the plugs firing and bursts of air coming from the exhaust. I've gone over the dizzy just to make sure all was in order and began turning engine again but all I got was a loud bang from the engine with the smell a party popper gives. I have then gone back and reset the timing to the ball on the mark, the dizzy is just past firing piston 1 and again, the ticks and farts.

To prevent a loud bang again (it gave me a headache) I've left it for the time being because I am at the lower end of mechanically minded folk..

Any answers?

Cheers, Benno.
