Hi all, I'm chasing the following parts for my wagon: - one FC dash knob surround (the choke/wiper side) - one wiper knob - lower plastic seat trims (any colour will do, cracks are ok too as long as they're repairable) Not needing concourse quality parts because they're for my daily driver. If you think you can help please get in touch Cheers, Dave

For Sale and Wanted / Cars Wanted / FC Wagon for potential trade for other early holden (FX-EJ)

Hi guys, I have an FC wagon in daily driver condition. It is currently registered and has been modified with a HR disc front end, 186 & 3spd and seat-belts (all with the appropriate mod plate). It's no show car and could do with some cosmetic tidying up in places, but it's no bomb either in my opinion. At some point in the future I'd like to acquire an unmodified (or less modified) old Holden with a grey motor. Ideally I'd like to find a vehicle in similar or better condition than the one I have. I'm open to consider anything from FX - EJ (in any body style) Out of interest, I'm throwing the feelers out to see what might be around and I'm certainly in no hurry. Perhaps you have an original car sitting in the shed that's too good to modify? Mine could potentially be a better platform to work with...? just a thought... Ideally, I'd be looking for something located in the South East Queensland corner Please contact me via PM if you wanted to chat further (no pressure, obligation etc...) Dave P.S. I'm not really interested in selling my wagon outright at this time, and as such, I'll refrain from uploading photos to this post to avoid enquiries of that nature

I'll be keen to hear how Port Macquarie goes after the weekend. For the committee's sake, I hope it all works out for them. I've gigged at Wintersun (Cooly) the last couple of years and seen a handful of humble organizers work there asses off to make it all happen... can't justify travelling that far this time around though... so...
Bring on Cooly Rocks On!

What an amazing piece of history to have in the garage. In the first link he says he wants $1.2 million which if its is number 2 sounds like a bargain.
Cheers Paul
This car has caused a lot of controversy between historians and on other forums. For $1.2 million I know I'd be wanting a car that could be absolutely guaranteed as being the genuine article

Cool stuff I've got an FX body at home that had some local drag racing pedigree as well as a handful of parts that came off the "Parramatta Spares" gasser. I'll get around to making something out of them oneday. Good to get a bit of inspiration

Delco did supply distributors and other auto-electrics early on in the piece. I'm not sure when the transition to Bosch was, but at a guess it's probably off an FX / FJ

Dave, I think you've described it openly and honestly - which has to be commended. It looks like it has great potential and doesn't appear to need too much work (only to be expected with a car of this age) in readiness for daily driver duties either. In my opinion, your price seems fair also. I'm sure you'd get some nibbles if you were to advertise it on ebay or the like

These look like Amal 276's to me Alot of speedway guys and boat racers used Amal motorbike carbs back in the day. If you search the net for Repco Crossflow heads you'll often see photos with 6 of these bolted to the side. They have a "straight through" throat so they tended to flow better for wide open throttle situations. Also most of the internals (like the round slide) were brass, which made them less prone to corrosion from methanol.
I think these ones might be priced a bit high.. because there are still plenty of these carbs around. Although, the hardest part is finding ones from the same year/era..
