update on the progress... having fun fitting the rear sway bar. I have just tried fitting the whiteline BR4 and guess what does not fit to the body of a fe ute. have taken a couple of photos and will post shortly. Now back to the ordering table for another type. Have purchased the FC-EK 22mm on the front and is huge in comparison but the links are shot and now ordering some new ones also but looks like it is going to fit.

Hello All,
What sway bars should I fit... I have a feeling I have ordered (HR) the wrong ones.
I have HR front cross member and discs and rear hr diff with drums on a fe ute.
Advise? Front is 22mm and rear is 18mm.

Technical Board / General Technical / Need help with my fe ute. It pulls to the right when I brake
|

Hello. I am trying to find out why my ute pulls to the right when I brake. It is not very noticable with lite braking but gets worse with more brake pressure. I have changed the wheel bearings, calipers and disc pads. I have also had a wheel alignment but still no luck and thus need ideas. Could it be the wheel bearing or the disc width?

Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: Engine Bay Diamentions for 1UZ-FE

Yes they are very wide. The rode shop said they can mod the hr cross member, make engine mounts to fit and the custom sump to fit also. Then all I need is a sourer half cut as the sump needs to be rear facing and then a supra 5 speed. Guess it is going to cost around 7k at the end of the day.

hehehe I wish!! Will need to move more funds into the secret fund (from the wife). Will be home this weekend to check measurements but have found the Toyota V8 to be roughly 70x70cms and do not want the trouble of cutting gaurds and moving the firewall. Has anyone done this conversion?

Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: How to Fit Wheel Caps

sorry I meant hub caps.... wife and kids are causing me to loose my mind!!!
I will post a pic tonight after work. Yes I think you are on the money with a clip needed as there is a hope on the side of the hubcap. There is no clips on the inside of the hub cap. The hubcap fits snug onto the rim. Both the rim (13inch) and hub cap are hr.

Technical Board / Restoration Help / How to Fit Wheel Caps
|

Hello All,
I have purchased some wheel covers and not sure how to fit them so they do not fall off. They fit on ok but there are no type of clamp to hold them on. What should I use? There is a hole in each wheel cap so I assume you drill a hole in the rim but not sure if this is correct.

Technical Board / Restoration Help / Steering Troubles
|
on: November 05, 2007, 11:31:27 AM
|
Hello All,
Thanks for the help so far. Next on my list is the steering and front mounts. I have been driving to and from the garage last weekend on a 48 hour police license as it has not passed the license inspection. I found the steering to be very poor and the car to drift over the road. It has had a hr front end fitted but guess the alignment has not been touched for the last 10 years along with the ball joints etc. Where do I start? can I do it myself? suggested mechanics or shops in Perth, WA?
David.

all working ok... firstly prime of the oil pump. I was able to pime the pump by taking the dissy out and pouring oil down there and also buy squirting oil down the oil pressure switch. The oil pressure was good straight away. I know the grease idea would have been the best but I would have the take the ending out again as there is not enough room between the pump and the hr subframe. secondly the dissy... the problem was the rotor from repco was incorrect. I put the old one back on and works great again. Will be taking that rotor arm back to repco on monday. Thankyou very much for the support.
