After a very long time I have got the old girl fired up again. My big thanks to all who have helped me on this forum. Pete Mallaby, Ellis French, Rob AKA Ardiesse, and anyone else I have forgtotten.
Not the same engine ... one I bought as Im going to rebuild ( again) the engine that was in it at a later date.

Trying to tune etc the temp got over 200 deg at idle for not very long. It is a new thermostat .... ill replace it anyway but are there cooler thermostats available??

Where is the best place to buy a carby rebuild kit. They are on Ebay. One for 50 buck and another for 100 bucks. Both look pretty much the same??

I have a polished tappet cover and a nearly brand new dual carb inlet manifold. The reason that i'm selling is that I have a matching Speco pair now.

$350 for both  or $250 for the tappet cover and $150 for the manifold.

Are there different types of harmonic balancers.
Mine does not have a thread to use the cox head installer tool I just bought.

Cam in and cover on. Bolts shortened so not to foul endcap sump gasket.

Haydn the rear main is in now,  it's the endcap bearing  gasket that I will trim and butt the sump gasket up to the endcap.
That way it is continuous with the surface of the block.
