Hi Ret, thanks for the heads up.
This is not unique to this Forum. I'm on a few other forums and also my email address is on couple of Club Web Sites and am experiencing the same spam/virus.
The danger with this one is that it is different and follows with a warning that the unsuspecting may respond to.

Technical Board / General Technical / Re: Help FE keeps stalling!

Does it re-start again straight away? Or do you have to wait a bit?
My bet is with fuel vaporisation, however I had a similar problem with a car once (not a Holden) and after all the checking, tightening and replacing it turned out to be rust particles in the fuel tank blocking the fuel line IN the tank. No rust was getting through to the fuel filter or carby, so it wasn't suspected.
After the engine stalled, the fuel (and rust particles) flowed back into the tank and it would start again and drive for 15 minutes or so and stall again.
Replaced the fuel tank and it never did it again.
Good luck finding it. Kevin

Thanks Stinky, I had a good look at Fast Eddies captive nut insert. That's a great way to go while doing a total restoration.
I'm hoping to find a way of doing it without pulling the interior apart too much.

Hi Harko, any chance of detailing the Bucket Seat and Seat Belt installation, with pics.
I'm planning to do the same job myself soon. As my FC Ute is in original condition I can't quite bring myself to rip out the bench seat just yet. But I feel kinda naked driving without seat belts.
I'd like to see how you mount the top shoulder support to the side of the body. It used to be done by drilling a hole and using a bolt that went right through, but I don't want to do that.

Thanks Graham, going to the Swap Meet was the longest drive I've had it on so far. Got home with no problems at all (knew I would). I've now clocked up 200 miles. I'm also pretty impressed with it as well and the more I work in it the more impressed I get. Now that it's registered I can start tidying up some of the little things, like fitting the sun visor, fixing a couple of minor oil leaks, replacing the floor in the back etc etc. Kevin

As for the aqua underneath that is standard on all sunvisors, only the top colour varies to suit the colour of the roof. I'm about ready to paint my FC outside Sunvisor and was surprised to read here that they were all "aqua green underneath" The one I have has black paint underneath and I can see no evidence of aqua green paint. If that is correct can someone tell me the color number for the correct aqua green. or perhaps post a pic of the color. Yeah I know can't guarantee its accurate but it's better than a guess. Hi Leon, thanks for asking, but I haven't heard anything back as yet. I fitted an $8.00 supercheap aerial for now, just to have an Air Chief radio that works. I also wanted to check that it did work after getting it repaired. It works just fine, great tone and all. I'll fit the Air Chief aerial back into the FC when I get a cable with a threaded loose nut that fits. I also bought another aerial with cable (already connected as one piece) at a VIC Swap Meet on Sunday. After Tony G bought a couple, I figured they must be OK for an FC. cheers Kevin

What did you use for the floor in the Ute back?
Yours looks good and I have to replace mine soon.

I'm still after an Aerial Cable to connect the aerial to the Air Chief radio. The base of the aerial is threaded with a centre prong and the radio is a push in fit.
In the mean time I'll fit a modern aerial until I get the right cable to install the original Air Chief Aerial again.

Got a lot of work ahead of you there. There's also lots missing from the photo, engine, steering wheel, etc. Do you have all the missing bits? or is that what you bought, just the body.
Too good to send to the tip tho.
My 2 cents, Kevin REDMR2RED

Hi Leigh, thanks. I simply rang up VIC Roads 13 11 71 (waited forever to get through) and asked if it was available. Was told yes it was so I asked if I can have it and was told yes. That's it, no dramas at all. The cost was $310.00. They were posted to me two months before registration, for me to hold.
I started to explain what it was for but she was not interested.
With the plates came a "Transfer of Rights" agreement, allowing me to sell the plates to anyone else or with the vehicle.

Here is a pic of the section of rusty sub-frame I had to repair. Took me 5 hours :-/ to cut out the rust and oxy weld, up-side-down, the new section in.

Hi all, finally got my FC Ute Registered (VIC) today.
WOO-HOO!!!! at last. Fantastic, can't wait till the first Club run to take it on.
Four items on the roadworthy, he made me replace perfect rubber bushes on the rear spring shackles, a blown reverse light globe, tighten up the front wheel bearings and the hardest job repair 18 inches of part of the subframe which was rusted and crushed. That all done, it was off to VIC Roads new office in Dandenong.
They gave me a hard time on the proof of ownership (i.e. not stolen) 4hammers helped me with that (Thanks Rob) only to find at the last minute they accepted a "Stat Dec".
I'm now sporting my original Registration number I had on my original FC Ute way back in 1963 HAV 709
You should have seen the smile on my face as I drove it home.
Cheers Kevin REDMR2RED

Hi torque, click on my web site to see all the pics. I've decided to keep it in original condition as possible. That'll keep Rob (Tas) happy. I'm just about ready for roadworthy and registration now, waiting on a new windscreen. Replaced most rubber bits, new brakes all round and brake booster fitted. Re-wired the back to get the indicators to blick in orange lenses and lots of little things. Thanks for your interest. Kev
