i know its not FC related but would look the part behind an FC, PS the way the v drive is set up it is very easy to swap motors ie holden six if you dont like the 302

45  For Sale and Wanted / Other Stuff For Sale / Lewis ski boat on: September 21, 2006, 10:13:14 PM
Its in Darwin it is an early Lewis hull with a 302 Windsor and a hanes helleyer V drive and dog clutch. the 302 is rebuilt but the old heads i put on are shagged, however it comes with new heads with some porting done and double valve springs. has new 350 holley and also comes with a 4bl manifold if anyone wants more go. its a good little boat and 40L of ULP will get you a full day of skiing, and thats tandem skis/ boards and can tow three ski tubes with ease. also come with step up gears for the v drive to get more speed if wanted.
aiming for around $5000 and ill throw in the skis that look like they came with the boat in the 60s. freight can be arranged

haveing trouble with photobucket will post pics but can also email if you need
46  For Sale and Wanted / Cars For Sale / clearance sale two cars boat and vt on: September 21, 2006, 08:52:36 PM
No time, No money, No shed No fair Cry Cry Cry
I am selling the lot, my 58 FC special with red motor, another fc i know nothing about i bought of ebay, a Complete VT clunkadoor for a doner car and my beloved early lewis skiboat with v drive and 302 windsor (see other stuff for VT and Boat).

My special is in Darwin on my property (gunnadoo station Cheesy ) it is in exelent nic the engine bay and under dash needs a tidy up but all crome and paint is good. photos speek for them self

I dont want any one ringing me and "telling me im dreaming" but im asking $9000.(I dont really want to sell it and refuse to lose to much money on the sale).
the few things ive done include:
New (old) gearbox it came out of a mint FC in vic and looks like its been rebuilt recently.
New windscreen
springs reset
front end new bushes all round.
and before i sell it i have to re do the fuel system from tank to carby.

the second FC is at my folks place in central vic but i have no numbers or piks of it, but will be going down for crissy so ill have a sqiz and take some photos apparently its "all there" and the crome is straight the grey motor runs but needs a rebuild or at least rings.
might try and get $1000 for this one  Roll Eyes Neg

If any one near vic wants the special i will go halves on the fuel to trailer it down and deliver it as i will pick up the other one and bring it back up to darwin

51  Galleries / Unreal Cars - Members' Artwork / Re: FC chop chop on: September 13, 2006, 10:53:23 AM
Only thing i did was cut and paste the sill line so it lines up with the bumper at the front but left it stock at the back, if you look close you can see the different color line about 1/3 of the way up the side!!! and thats why the bigger picture is tilted to get the rake and the sill is off the original photo. oh yeah and the front is droped a bit Wink

55  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: Paint Nos on: September 10, 2006, 04:25:28 AM
EmbarrassedI think i sorted it out  there shold be a 7 after the 204 and i thought the 280 was a 290. so the paint is original but the trim inside is not, does anyone have a photo of what the original colour scheme inside would have looked like, it would be nice to have it all match.

A friends dad brought his GXL cruiser over and there was all these "hidden" costs and so called taxes that he had to pay and if he knew what it would have cost he would have sold it and bought a new one over here, so when you ship it get a solid quote and make sure it all inclusive. dont know about work in qld but fitter/ welder you could have work tomorrow and top $$$ to i spose, as long as you dont mind working in one of the mines.
have fun moving

59  For Sale and Wanted / Cars For Sale / Re: FC Project on: September 03, 2006, 12:15:22 AM
Dont know the whole story but i get the drift. I know of a bloke in Darwin with dud eyes, he can only see if hes not looking directly at you, however he can tune a holden/chev v8 better than most in Darwin and has a big block holden that he has his mates drive him around in and even takes it to the drags. He sits on the hill and can tell you what needs to be done just by hearing his car!! so all is not lost and stick to it,

Good luck Russ

Heino,

I am also starting a big project as a first car, the only tips i,ve got are RESEARCH!!! which you've already started, this is a great site! , BE REALISTIC If your budget is all you've got maybe just tidy the car up "practice" a few things and plan for the future, Thoughts are free. And also find a good donor car, or buy an unfinished project that someone has done all the hard work on, i think there was one for sale on here last week for 4gs???

Thats my two bobs worth good luck

Russ
