I will try new leads and check the spark plugs
I have no instument to measure the compression

To give you more info on the engine , its missing constantly ,Ive cleaned the spark plugs and they appeared ok
it farts when under heavy load and you have to back of the power ,I think its worsening

I have a grey engine 138 and its a little tired ,lately its had a bad miss and doesnt improve with acceleration.Ive put a new dizzy cap and cleaned all the sparkplugs and cleaned the points ,Ive checked the timing and all appears ok
Im hoping someone can shed a little light on other ideas I can try

Its time to  part with my Fe sedan ,Im thinking of advertising it here first to see if anyone has any interest
Its been my project for 2 odd years but my job security has been shot so she has to go soon ,Im in no real hurry as yet

She is not perfect but shes a beaut representation of a early holden

Its got full rego and runs well ,was restoed abot 10 odd years ago and its showing some bumps and scaps but does buff up really well
Has twin carbs and extractors and standard 138 thats runs fine

I have a Fe with a 138 ,I went for a drive yesterday and when I accelerate heavily the motor backfires [farts]
and the whole car jerks badly ,I checked the spark plugs they appear ok ,is this a timing problem or just a dirty set of points ,its now idling badly
