Stinky i run 14 x8s with 235 60s and a torana rear end and had the same problem with the inner wheel tub . I masaged it with a hammer and now run a set of 6mm wheel spacers they now only rub very occasionally. you had a look at my car at the vineyard carpark on registration day at the nats gm chassis black FE with magnum rims and tripple dellortos hope this helps Simon Addison

Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: FC 9 inch Rear

depends what wheels your going to run and the offset for that particular wheel. Offset being the amount the mounting face of the wheel is offset from the centre of the rim either positive or negative. Your tyre choice will impact upon this also. I would say you will definatley fit a 14 x 7 on the rear and 14 x6 at front. I am currently building a chev powered FC sedan with 9 inch rear end and Hadfield front end but i am changing to LX torana front end with Leyland P76 rotors. I am running 14 x 8s on rear and going to mini tub the rear wheel wells to get clearance . Am unsure of my rearend width and will probably get it shortend again to suit new choice of rims. The morale of this tale is to make sure of your build specs before you start ordering modified parts, and to measure , measure and double check your measurements, and there are no easy shortcuts when building a modified vehicle if in doubt read last sentence again hope this is of some help all the best Simon Addison

the original leaf springs are capable of being rebuilt re tensioned leaves added or subtracted my thought is unless your radically modifying / changing the car dont try and reinvent the wheel. the leaf spring rear end works well. radius rods could be added or the old cheapo slapper bars could be considered . whatever you do have fun with it just my two cents worth what would i know im just an electrician just dont over complicate a possibly simple problem hope this helps .im so full of advise after a couple of bourbons all the best Simon Addison

have just fitted honda seats to my car and now have to refit them as they sit too high the seat adjuster mechanism hit the hump in the floor but if i swap the seats right to left and left to right the seat slide adjusters will sit over the low outside part of floor alowing seats to sit almost 75 mm lower all the best Simon Addison
