Welcome Tenille! Enthusiasm will be necessary; mechanical experience certainly isn't!If you want to tell us where you and the car you're thinking of buying are located, I'm sure there'll be someone here on the forum somewhere close enough to help you check out the car... And if/when you buy it, you'll get all your questions answered right here by people with LOTS of knowledge (and I'm not one of them ) cheers, jack

The best part is that he will be able to park it anywhere without the risk of some turd walking past with a coin, screwdriver or keys and damaging the finish.
Keith
or breaking into his shed and f#@&ing every panel.... there's a lot to be said for cars with a 'ratty' finish...

.......and my apologies to JOD34N and the moderators if this looks like a thread hijacking, wasnt my intention. Seeing all those Tasmans put me in a trance!! Jim, I somehow doubt that Dean will be upset.... More likely he'll be overjoyed to find that he's not the only 'TasmaNutter' on here!

Mark; you're right - it's naughty, but sometimes the only viable solution.... Stinky, I'm running an XU-1 diff with 14 x 7 rims and 215-70 tyres; rims have considerable offset out, but still rubbed on the inner guards; plenty of clearance on the outers (even without rolled lips) 3mm spacers prevented MOST of the rubbing; 5mm all of it... So I will join Simon and you as recipients of a (well-deserved!) lecture from FC427 re the evils of wheel spacers... (seriously though, Mark; aside from spacers being illegal, I would really appreciate and value your opinion on the possible consequences of using them, and what sort of driving may induce or hasten these problems, and what steps, if any, those of us who choose to use them may take to minimise any problems... I'm using best quality new studs with plenty of thread available for the nuts after the spacers are fitted; other than taking the spacers off, are there any other precautions I could be taking?)

with single out the back tucked up close to the body so its not on show with end slight bend towards the road. Its clean, legal, no drone, barks, and works.
perth_ute probably means something like this- (personally, I believe exhaust systems are the opposite to kids - they should be heard but not seen... )

Jordo, if your 202 is relatively stock bar the extractors, you may find 2 1/2" too big. Pipe diameter needs to be matched to each particular motor with regard not only to its capacity but also its extent of modifications. Too large is just as bad as too small... This also seems to apply to mufflers; a stock engine seems to need much smaller length/number of mufflers to achieve a given decibel level compared to a highly modded engine of same capacity (I found that a 2.5" muffler that was VERY loud on my modded 202 sounded fine on my shitty old daily with a near-stock 350 SBC) Also, I've found that fitting a tailpipe with larger diameter than the rest of the system might look good, but actually seems to sound worse... (not to mention those people fond of fitting 'jam tins' on the end of their system ) All of the above are observations collected over many years of sometimes stupid modifying by a very much 'bush mechanic'; I'm sure there are many others on this forum far better qualified to give you good advice... cheers, jack

I run a Single 2 1/2" over the diff with a 16" body sports muffler ......FC427....
and that's about perfect..... if you want to be a noisy young lout like FC427 (I'm a respectable senior citizen; I added an 18" 'hotdog' resonator to what he's got, and it's still way over legal decibels in Vic )
