224  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: Where to buy vynil for seats and rooflining on: June 05, 2009, 07:58:23 PM
SMS auto fabrics in the US might be able to help with seat, door trim material. I sent them a sample of fall red out of my FE and they matched it perfectly, colour and pattern. I also sent them a headlining sample but alas they don't have a perfect match.   dave

I have been talking with Doug over there via E-MAIL a few times this last week and he has always returned mail the next day. The post office send it would take around 10 days for the samples to arrive, so we'll see how we go    DAVE

228  Technical Board / Restoration Help / interior trim on: April 27, 2009, 09:26:55 PM
Hi everyone the interior of my FE is fall red and in pretty good nick.I bought some new backing boards for the door trims but the vinyl has shrunk and the upholsterer can't get it to fit.We have heard different stories about the material, that it was made in oz and is not available anywhere to it was imported from the US and will probably be available from someone like sms trims. Has anyone any ideas about where we might find some or am I just dreaming  thanks Dave

232  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: vacuum wipers on: April 12, 2009, 08:42:23 PM
Thanks Ken      I would rather keep the original look and keep the vacuum motor. I pulled it apart and it all looked pretty clean and tidy. I dont spose there is a way of testing it without the car running.(the motors at the engine builders).  THANKS DAVE
233  Technical Board / Restoration Help / vacuum wipers on: April 11, 2009, 03:26:14 PM
Hi everyone   does anyone know if kits for vacuum wiper motors are available? Or does anyone offer a restoration service? Or should I just put in elec wipers? I have an EK wiper motor is it a bolt in job or are some mods required?    THANKS DAVE
234  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: acc. oil filters on: March 24, 2009, 05:59:40 PM
Thanks Ken  would the rubber gaskets come with the replacement cartridge or would i take out the ones in my tin one?  What I have now is a rubber grommet fitted in the bottom of the tin cartridge and a flat rubber washer on the top held down by a few fibre washers and a spring    THANKS DAVE
235  Technical Board / Restoration Help / acc. oil filters on: March 24, 2009, 04:45:26 PM
Hi everyone  My FE has an accessory oil filter and I am wondering about a replacment cartridge. The one thats in it is a metal one, kind of like a tin can with perforations all the way around (sort of like a cheese grater). The housing is orange in colour with a black top ( I think ). My local spare parts place can only find listings for paper type elements. Does anyone know if these are OK for this type of filter? Or are tin ones available? Or can I clean the old one?   I'm sure someone will know the answer to all these questions    THANKS DAVE

240  Technical Board / Restoration Help / MOUNTING FE BONNET EMBLEM on: March 10, 2009, 07:07:07 PM
Hi everyone the bonnet I am using on my FE is a FC BONNET  so I need to weld up the holes for the HOLDEN lettering and mount the FE trim and badge.I want to put it in the right place so if someone could give me some measurements from the front edge of the bonnet to the bottom of the chrome trim at the middle I think that should do the trick.     THANKS DAVE
