21  Technical Board / Modification Help / Brake & Cable Accelerator Conversion Questions on: October 19, 2003, 10:43:43 PM
1 I want to do a cable accelerator conversion to a FC and have looked at using a commodore accelerator pedal Which is the best to use ? or would a HJ/HX pedal assembly be a better option The Rarespare cable conversion pedal kit  will not  fit without major surgery.
2.What is involved in fitting HQ or similar master cylinder? I have used HR Disc brake master cylinder with a PDR power booster (VH44)  I am running HR drums on the rear ( changed the lines from 1/4 in to 3/16 in with a 9/16 in wheel cylinder)
3. What is involved in fitting HZ or similar booster set up? This would most likely mean modifying cutch master cylinder on FC i.e. it would need to be angled up as with a Torana hydraulic clutch conversion. As I am running a manual
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in anticipation

23  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: Rust repair sections on: October 18, 2003, 01:58:57 AM
Geoff,
Both Scott Old Auto Rubbers  (http://www.scottsoldautorubber.com.au) in Melbourne and Spectrum Rubbers (http://www.spectrumrubber.com.au ) in Sydney  have wide range of rust repair sections. I think that these are cheaper than Rarespares and the door sill were made of a thicker metal than RSP.

24  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: what free standing heater and demister in fc s on: October 13, 2003, 10:26:41 AM
Aussie Desert Coolers (Norm 03 94704449) are making 7inch Cub heater/demister set up. It looks OK except for the fan which appears to be under size. This appears to be type used by the electronic industry. They didn't have a working one on my last visit. So I don't how good the air flow is.

26  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Warmaride Core on: September 21, 2003, 09:03:07 AM
Does any body know where you can get a new core for a NASCO Warmarider heater in Melbourne Huh?
27  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: WHAT REAR END ??? on: September 05, 2003, 08:50:03 AM
The UC Torana had disc brake Salisbury rear end but it is hard to fit to a leaf spring car because of the hand brake set up. Parts are also in short supply.
A Volvo rear end is almost strong as a 9in, the axles are 27 spline and the hanbrake set up is easier to adapt to leaf spring car.
28  Technical Board / Modification Help / Registration requirements for fitting 186 on: September 03, 2003, 08:00:04 AM
What is required  in Victorian for registration after fitting 186 and five speeds in FC?
Is engineers report required? Or just a current RWC and the fitting of: electric 2 speed wipers, windscreen demisters, windscreen washer system, seat belts, disc brakes etc. Vic Roads VSI 8 is unclear as to what is required. Thanks in anticipation for any help

32  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: fe/hr front end on: July 10, 2002, 09:41:05 AM
You will need EH sump and pick up. Check the sump plug as you may need put over size plug, as they usual leak. It is easier to do this with the engine out of the car. Grin
