yeah flat black with purple and white pinstripes and paint the chrome silver frost, but you don't want to put those horrible Tasmans on it. They should be donated to a good cause. Grin Grin Grin    Dave

G'day everyone, I was wondering what people are using to clean their white wall tyres. Need something to make the black part black and the white part white.   Dave

I have my CD player in the glove box and 4" box speakers mounted up under the dash, and I ran some wires under the floor covering and under the back seat and I have some good quality 6" speakers in boxes I just sit on the rear floor for cruising and I just take them out and pop the wires under the back seat and it is all invisable. I've got a stick on internal arial under the glove box, so radio reception is not great but not too bad   Dave

Our local car club has been through the shed and as Craig said lot's of interesting cars and interesting stories from Jeff, some truer than others I suspect, but well worth the visit. He has quit a few cars in very interesting colour and trim options. Dave

187  Technical Board / Restoration Help / part no. help on: April 29, 2010, 08:17:41 AM
g'day everyone. Some time back I bought NOS king pin set off e-bay to suit FE FC. But there not for FE FC. The pin is too short. The kit is in it's original Holden box with a part no. of Z1222 stamped on it. I'm thinking it might be for FX FJ. If someone has a parts book or knows what model they fit I would be most interested to find out.   Thanks Dave

Hey everyone I lost one of the little s/s trims from around the front blinker lense on the way to Orange. If someone has a nice spare one that I could purchase I would be eternally grateful.  thanks Dave

Hi NIck  I got my whole car sand blasted, it had alot of surface rust! cost about $1000.00. It was a realy good job with no panel damage at all. You need to get primer on the car ASAP after it is blasted. I took mine straight to the fellow who painted my car and he put 2 pak primer on it. He said the 2 pak does'nt absorb moisture like normal primer, and you can put filler over it without going back to metal. Taking out the steering column is pretty easy, just need to make sure you take notes for the wiring.  Dave

That's interesting Ken , the underside of my FE was absolutley covered with the stuff, up to 1/2 an inch thick in places. I wonder if that was part of the reason there was so little rust in the floor?   Dave

Looks great Dean all you need to do now is get rid of all that excess stainless trim down the side and paint the rest of it grey and she will look fantastic    Dave
